This morning just as I was turning into work, my windshield wipers and fluid went on. I thought that I may have inadvertantly hit the switch when I turned on the turn signals.
However, on the way home, the wipers turned on every 2 minutes or so and sprayed the windshield. By the time I got home, the windshield washer reservoir was empty. Jiggling the switch only had limited success.
I must have PO'd some biatch in a VW Passat (Pass that) shooting washer fluid all over her car 'cause she pulled out quickly around me and then jammed right in front then sprayed her windows and my car as well several times. She was probably pissed and gonna teach me a lesson. I just gave her the :dunno: sign 'cause I was helpless at controlling my runaway wipers. :o Boy, this is embarrassing. :D

It could be a faulty wiper motor and/or multifunction switch. Take it in if you still have base warranty.

It's still under warranty for another 15,000 miles. Was just in for rear tires 2 weeks ago and then an A/C problem last week. Now the wipers. :( Why can't this crap happen together ???

Update: The wiper/window washer problem seems to take about 30 minutes to develop. On the way to work again this AM, the wipers kicked on about 1/2 hour into my commute. :( Fortunately, the washer reservoir was empty from the VW soaking episode last night. :D I didn't bother to refill it figuring that it would just get pumped all over someone else's car. :o The nozzle pressure is good enough to hit cars two spots back. :o
Gonna make a call to the dealer and try to get her in this afternoon.
On the positive side, my air conditioning problem may have fixed itself at least temporarily. Puddles of condensation are now forming under the car like they used too. Blowers are cold enough that I had to cut 'em back this morning. Haven't had to do that in more than a week.

Oh..oh, the gremlins must have transfered over to your car at the last CAM Meet you attended. Better put some fluid in the resevior before the motor burns it's self out.

From your Explorer or the Firehawk before that ?? :dunno: .... I haven't seen the KB #8 "Black Bomber" in so long that I thought you traded it in on that 300M that you are riding to work in.

None of our vehicles have the gremlin effect. I was talking about Merc's and Mark's cars, both of them have been bitten by the gremlins. :gizmo:
The 'Black Bomber' just won a trophy at a car show last weekend.
The 300m is not mine, if I wanted to buy a German car I'd buy the real thing and remember, "Nothing says looser like driving a Dodge."

Update on the wiper/windshield washer problem. Again, coming to work this morning the wipers started to act up. It was right at 30 minutes so I suspect that something is heating up and causing the switch or module to act up. Called and made an appointment at the dealer for noon. On the ride over, right at 30 minutes the wipers come on and the washer emptied the fluid reservoir in about 5-10 minutes. The car is in the shop now.
I have a rental and am driving a Ford Focus ZX4. :( Dealer just called and said the washer motor has to be replaced (under warranty). The technician was just explaining to the service manager that he was unable to duplicate the problem when the wipers came on a gave them both a good soaking.

i had the same problem about two weeks ago. makes for a good laugh tho. mine also made the headlights flicker so people would think i was flashing them. lots of people got pissed and flashed me back. the dealer replaced my wiper motor under warranty. no problems...for now.

Another Update:
The dealer replaced the windshield wiper motor under warranty and refilled the washer reservoir. No reoccurrence of the automatic VW Passat/PO'd biatch sprinkling system on the way home tonight. Hopefully this has gotten rid of all the gremlins in the wiper system. :D

I have now become part of the exclusive Freaky Wiper Club. Couple weekend ago, had car washed early in the day due to meet that evening. Car was parked several hours. About five minutes after leaving the house on the way to the meet, the wipers started wiping all by themselves. Wouldn't turn off, even with the magic cusswords invoked. Wiggled and jiggled everything. Stopped by itself later in the trip to Sanford (from Orlando). Thankfully, I did not have to pull into a car meet with the wipers going in sunny weather. Has not happened since, but I guess I need to visit the dealer soon while it's still under warranty.

Check the MFS like RoyLPita said.
You may not want to have the resevoir emtpy, may burn up the washer pump...
