View Full Version : Chicken Run - June 26th

Sunday, June 19th, I am proposing a Chicken Run. Hopefully work won't call me and I won't need the hours so bad this time around.

I'm In. It is also one day before my Birthday

In the future it won't always be a new chicken run a week or two later, there will be more places to venture out to. I understand there are some nice places that require a permit, which require money, which when I just opened the club treasure chest a few moths flew out.

But for now, June 19th is proposed.

Can I get a "AHM IN?"

I have no problem with it. Others might though since it is Father's day. Might want to reschedule for the following Sunday, the 26th.

The 26th I'm going to the rifle range to punch some paper, shoot some clays and some plinking. You are all welcome to join me if you like. :gunfire:

twice in one month does not go over well with the Mrs. but I think I can swing it if I promise to either a] bring the wife/son along and/or b] bring home some extra chicken.

I stopped by anyway as I was out that way - oh well, was dricing the 442. Stopped at oak brook. All prewar cars, those are just mammoth cars, some were pretty darn nice - not my cup o tea but I sure appreciate them

Jason, that will be two in a row that you haven't made if you don't come. It is about time that Bradley G does show up though. With as much as he is around here you think he would show his face sometime.

OK, I'm In. It's official...

I don't know how clean my car will be, it needs a bath but I'm running short on time for the "usual." I'll be leaving Mount Prospect tomorrow at 12 noon so I will be there early, and it looks like we're going to have a handful of various other Panthers.

looks like I wont be able to make it afterall.

I traded the Chicken Run for a visit to Wired's Nextfest [www.nextfest.net] and a visit to some friends' BBQ. I can eat chicken several times a year, but my only chance to go to Nextfest is tomorrow.

sorry guys.... I know it wont be the same without me......

I forgot. I just take 83 south and turn at the...uh...hotel? Wendys? Some fast food joint at the corner and if I hit the overpass I've gone too far pick up my piece start at go and do not collect $200.00.

The frontage road entrace is just north of I-55 off of Rt.83/Kingery Hwy.
From Rt83 South, turn left at the light toward the Denny's and turn immediately Right to follow the frontage Road.
Follow it around the curve and turn left it ends... turn left and it's right there. Del Rheas Chicken Basket. An old Route 66 Historical Place.

It's been a little over a year, since I've been there last so pardon my destructions being a bit vague. If you can get to the Denny's - you're golden.

if there ever was a good reason to miss a chicken run - Nextfest was it. I gotta tell you, it was really cool and a damn shame that it was only here for 3 days. I got to take a peek at some of the latest in technology and meet the people that created it. Getting there when it opened this morning, when it was not as crowded, gave me more face time with the folks there.

Nontheless, I do want to hear all about the day's festivities at Dell Rhea's!

It was fun, but not one of our more memorable meets. BigJoeP stopped by, so did mercman (hoorah!), but it was just too hot to spend our usual time pointing, asking, laughing and watching. I'm sure you made the right choice, Rick, let's talk about that this week, eh?

Meanwhile, the next Chicken Run is in two days, any takers?

I like the way you're thinking Mac (About the Chicken Run dates) I might be able to make a Wed. gathering if I'm still off of work  but I do need the time...

I just wanted to say Thank you to Dan, Joe & Kim for stopping by. It was a pleasure to see all of you, although I have not met Kim? Maybe in Plainfield. I had to look twice when I saw Dan walk to the table.

Using a temporary way of uploading, here is a shot of today:

Good times as usual. Too bad I had to leave early, had a long night ahead of me. Saw the videos that were taken, some decent burnouts. Also saw the one from when I left. Thought I heard someone say that it sounded messed up or something at the end of the clip. Not sure though, the sound quality isn't too great on this somputer. I've noticed the car sounds a little different since getting it tuned Friday, but not sure. Haven't heard it from behind at all. Anyone know if this is the case?

Yes, I got the Sutton tune. I forgot the graph at home today, so I couldn't scan it. If I remember tomorrow I'll do it. I made a post about getting retuned but didn't say where I got it done, just how to get more horsepower. I'll make another more specific post tomorrow when I can post the graph from the dyno along with it.

I've got my graph at home, if memory serves me correctly I got darn near close to 300 hp.

my mods include the PHP airbox, u/d pullys, 4.30 gears, plugs, stat, SS brake lines, and Raven mufflers.

you ought to have more power since you have a better exhaust than I - maybe I was wrong about the HP. I will know later tonight.

Gerry probably used my program as a starting point for you since we both have the PHP airbox. It should have made your tune much less time consuming...

...people never believe me when i say i got the stock 2.73:1 rearend...

hey Jason, what did you end up doing with the 3.55 gears you pulled out? or if anyone has a set, let me know.

3.55 trac-loc conversion is going to be my next project as part as the suspension rebuild. 2.73s are beautiful on the highway (get a nice 26-28MPG with it) but they suck in the city..

I still have them. I greased them up to prevent any rust before I stored them, but I plan on saving them along with my stock airbox and subwoofer. Ya just never know.
