Has anyone come across any "custom painted" panthers?
I would think that there must be a few crown vics or marquis's out there with something different than solid color paint schemes.
After all, our basic body style has been in production for over 10 years.
You would think that somebody would have sprayed some cool paint designs by now.
I know that mercury had/has a two tone marquis (split at the belt line) someone had posted it here a while back, it was probably lost when the server crashed.:(

There may be more than you think. I ran across a guy at Carlisle who claimed Ford will custom paint any color, if you have a group order. For instance; say 20 guys got together and had made a group buy of 20 Dark Green MM's, he said they would have done it. :dunno:

There's a crown vic around here that has white pearlescent paint with a large chain link design running down the length of the body on both sides.

There was a pic of a Black MM with a Silver front somewhere.
I had mine repainted under warranty. I had the shop that did the work put 4 different colors of pearl in the clear coat. In the dark/shade the car looks factory black. When the sun hits it or lights at nite, all that pearl glitters and dances across the black background. I don't know if you consider that custom paint, but it is definitely unique. I will try to post a picture when I get home from work.

This is what's called a "fleet order". CVPIs are like that too. "Special paint" is an option on some vehicles. The way the FHP paint their cars is considered special.
