hi, this might sound dumb, but--- 04 silver mm w/ trunk mounted cd changer. i am not into cd and music and such, but i loaded the changer with 3 cds and all seems well EXCEPT, i can not figure out how to change cds from the controls on the radio!! changing tracks on the same cd is no problem. the manual is totally useless, there is no info on how to change cds from the drivers seat. am i missing something/ please help. i cant believe you have to physicallt change the cd from the trunk.(my wife says you do-she is a nyc teacher and can not find out the solution either) thanks for any help

I had the same problem!
But then someone had explained it to me.
It's either the -TUNE- button or the -SEEK- button.
And surprisingly there is no way to get that info from the manual.

:coolman: First use the select mode button - go to "CDDJ", that put you into the CD changer mode. Then use the select button on your dash to change the CD's. Seek button up and down are then used to go up and down the tracks.

Mine moves to the next track with that button. Have to use the Tune button on the head unit to get next CD.

I was always confused my this. Some folks said they had Alpine, but my specs said Audiophile. Is that the same thing?
BTW, now that I have removed the foam from over the subwoofer and added a 2" dia. by 4" long port into the subwoofer box, mine sounds 100% better in the bass response.

FORD calls it an Audiophile system, but it is built by Alpine.

well factory still sucks. i put an alpine 9855 in with a 6disc mp3 changer in the trunk in the factory ocation. sounds 1000x better.

Did you lose the ability to control the unit from the steering wheel when you upgraded?

"Mode" switches between AM, FM, CD, or CDDJ (6 disc jukebox). The "Next" button on the steering wheel changes the track on the current CD. "Tune" on the dash unit changes CDs. "Seek" changes tracks. Do a search here on "Speed Volume" for another little known trick. :D

I installed a JVC 12-dick CD changer in place of my factory changer, used the same mounting brackets (with some slight mods) and the factory cover. I did lose the use of the steering wheel controls, but the unit comes with a remote.
