I will be going to Cecil Co. Track on Wed. 6/29/05 at 5pm with some guys from The Mustang Club of Maryland. So far there are about 3 or 4 of us going.

I hope to finally get some real numbers on this car.

Anyone else interested?

It would be fun, but I have to work until 6pm today, then have a dinner engagement planned. Please keep me in mind for the next trip. Hopefully, you will be posting the results?
Thanks,
Howard

Thanks to MarauderMark for taking my pics and videos! You da man!

Ok.. My best run was 13.599. Not too bad considering this was my first time at the track. I kinda felt like ::depress: Sheesh... Gteck thingy said mid 12s. The track is not the street though. I did not get the same feedback from the car at the track as I do on the street. I have been going over this in my head since I left the track and know where I need help. Like turn off the T/C! There is a good start! :D Also, after watching some video, I can see alot of :burnout: on take off. I need to work on the launch.

My worst run was after staging and some track official had to tell me to close the passenger window:fishslap: . There was a 1st gen Lightning running against me. I looked down to close the :censor: window, looked up, the light was green, and the L was gone! First I . Then I :burnout: .....I still beat him w/ a 13.784 to his 15.743.

After 4 runs I got my ****nit together, (T/C & O/D off, nice burn out, staged...remember: ease into it...ok Im ready :nono: ....what?  ) THEY SHUT IT DOWN BECAUSE THE RAIN!

We all had fun despite the rain that shut us down. Mildly modded Cobras in the club were running 12.8's, stock vette 13.9s, and GTs mid 14.5s .

BTW, the G-tech is pretty close! I had a 13.683 run and G-tech showd 13.77.

I'll get pics of the time slips (I dunno how to post them w/o a scanner) and get the videos I got up.

Nice job, you should have better numbers the next time out. A tire upgrade may be in your future also. Hope to see you run in the Mason Dixon Shootout in October.

Not to bad for your first time Charlie, my first time down the track I was running 13.3s constantly. Like you I need to learn how to roll into my lauch, I get no traction off the line anymore. Oh, yea and some drag radials. :D

Pretty good for first time out.:banana2: I found that with the stock tires, not doing a burnout works better, maybe .2 or so based on the compound of our tires. 13.5 depending on track condition is extremely respectable though, along with it being your first time. But drag radials would have helped you greatly as am I sure you know. Interesting information on your G-Tech. Might have to look into getting one of those puppies.

I'll be heading up your way in August to Glen Burnie. Maybe we can hook up.

Sure.. Perhaps we can coordinate the August CAM meet with your trip up. Keep us updated.

Thanks for your input. I did not air down the tires and ran with all the junk in the trunk.

Now to get the rubber chunks off the back of the car

Good Sir,

13's in a car that was never built to see them is good in my book. Keep up the good work, and if you see something on the road that deserves a beating...give it to them.
