So does the gap of the bumper to the tail light bother anyone else? I took a quick glace at it when I did the oil change and saw its just an unsupported area. Maybe something can be done? Any ideas? It kinda bothers me that everything is so tight and the lines are pretty straight but when you look at the rear bumper its like looking into a black hole. See my signature...

Doesn't bother me, but it's one of those areas that needs special attention after a car wash. If you don't slip a towel in there to soak up the water it ends up running down the bumper and leaving spots. :nono:

It bothers me some - but I try to think about it. I don't know what can be done to tighten up that area without effecting the other areas of the bumper...

I think if it was any closer to the point it touched it would squeek and rattle. The taillight bolts back to the rear fenders and not down to the bumper so it never would be tight and snug which would lead to the squeeks and rattles.

I never noticed. It can't be as bad as the bumper gap on the 1st gen Durangos. That looks like they just gave up on engineering and let the tool stay wrong.

I have signatures shut off. Nearly all of them are excessive and nobody was shutting them off after their first post in a thread. I shall take a look at yours though.

Just looked at the sig pic. The gap looks ok.

See my signature...There were 10 Marauders at Dragway 42, during our Clevland meet. The only MM to not have the sag was Haggis, who had the rear fascia replaced recently. My SVT Contour has the same type of sag. May be from the wind or hot air pushing on inside of fascia during use. Any ideas on how to correct sag would be appreciated.

KenI don't think he's talking about any "sag". All Marauders, and crown Vics have this gap between the top of the back bumper, and the bottom of the border that runs underneath the tail lights. And it has nothing to do with sag. if you go to a car dealer, you can see that all the brand new Crown Vics have this same gap. It's just the way these cars are, and it took me two years of my Marauder ownership to even notice it.

Its a common thing in Ford design. I looked at a Mustang yesterday and it had the same gap.

After looking at mine, I would also add that another reason it hangs down a bit is to keep the trunk from hitting it - rubbing, scratching, squeeking, rattling

You're not alone, some of them are tasteful, others not. Get a hot topic rolling and you spend half your time waiting for them to load.

Most of the time, I opt to deselect my signature before submitting each post. If your signature is graphic intensive and you're posting allot in one thread, you might do the same, keeping in mind our dial-up bretheren and sisteren. Remember those days??

The gap between the tailights and the bumper cover was really bothering me so I went to my dealer and he fabricated a couple brackets that are bolted in at both upper corners of the rear bumper. When we were discussing the problem, I told the body shop manager that it didn't matter to me what he put on the service ticket so he could fix it under warranty and send the bill to Ford. Seemed like that was all he needed to hear to get him to do it, then me and the head body guy crawled under the car and he told me what he did to fix his ride(Mustang). On my 04 MM the bumper cover appears to be supported only in the center, sag really wasn't the problem it the tailight gap.
