Well,.. this is the first time pulled my intake off. I followed the advise from other threads; and so far, so good.
first:
I removed the air tube and unplugged the IAC an TP sensors.
I loosened the throttle cable cover bolts.

then I pulled the hardware and cover.
I removed The EGR bolts. Watch out for the little copper gasket back there.

Then I loosened the upper intake bolts. I was careful when I pulled them out. The bolt lengths vary,.. some short, some long.
I got my wife to hold up one side of the intake, while I held the other side and slid in the spacer and gasket.
I made sure the spacer and 2 gaskets were properly seated and put the bolts back in.
89 in. lbs. is the torque spec. I snugged them in the pattern specified by the Helm manual. I accidental stripped the bolt under the EGR tube. I'll have to get that fixed fairly soon.
Putting the EGR back in place was a PITA! I had a hard time lining up the copper gasket, then the EGR didn't want to line up. With a little time, I was able to them installed.
I reconnected everything and checked to make sure I didn't leave any tools on the intake.. :)
Here's what it looks like:

I started her up, no probs, no tripped codes.
I took her for a spin around the block. It's hard to say if I can feel a difference. ....maybe? I think this is the kind of mod, when used in conjunction with other mods (CAI, pullies, Etc.) and a proper tune will make a noticeable difference!
:woohoo:
I hope this helps anyone who's thinking about this particular mod! :burnout:
