Just got back from the Mercury dealer.

They had a new 300B with Flint int.

It had a custom spoiler with brake light.

I think it looks awesome.

The salesman told me that he will call me with a part number next week. I will then post it here.

:bows:I realize you didn't create it, but YOU did find it first! Kudos!
Nice find and even better to share with all of us.
I knew it was worth the wait,

I love pedestal spoilers! Got the same style on the LS, and after 2.5 years, STILL haven't seen another with one like it.
I am so on this........, post that part number on monday, I am ready to order. Ask about the paint and install as well. I want to get an idea what my dealer will charge versus my buddy at the performance shop.

:rock:Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you:rock:

LOOKS LIKE A THREE PEDESTAL.....HMMMM.....THATS NEW:confused:

Do they remove the factory 3rd brake light? I think it looks bad when the ricers add a spoiler with a brake light and leave the origional.

CRUZTAKER

$600?????? Absolutely NOT reasonable.

Yeah, they pulled that crap on me with the LS.
Hell, $600 will damn near get me a Stallion T/C. More fun too.
(It may be wiser to wait for it to hit the aftermarket)

I am gonna check the price with my employee discount, parts only, and likely sub out the paint, $50, and install myself. The wife helped with the last two, although the drilling made her woozy.

Factory 3rd brake light still intact.

I am not sure how you would remove it without leaving a hole on rear deck.

This car will NEVER be confused with a ricer

There is a thread here somewhere regarding 3rd brake lite removal. But I believe most decided its not a good idea. Afterall, an extra brake lite is an extra factor in avoiding a rear ender.

Can we get the spoiler without the brake lite in it ? That would be nice.

Galpin Ford. Famous for the ceramic Ford Dogs

Is it an actual Ford accessory? Looks good.

Oh well, get the Part number, and if not a Ford part the manufacturer name and I'll add it to the Parts list thread

Yikes! $600 bux painted... do they give you the trunk lid too?

Boy am I glad I'm paying $160 for my new old style Marauder spoiler...

I've already had the other type on my 1992 Vic before so its time to try a Nascar style spoiler for me, heh.... That third brake light is a step in the right direction, except they should have taken the one from the rear window off....

I am with Reaper on this one.....

No joke, if that is the spoiler I chose to put in my car, my G/F would have vetoed it!

Sounds steep but Roush wanted $375 Unpainted with no brake lite for the "Cobra Vic" Spoiler. If You want it get it,I am still getting the business from my wife about my front fascia $450+$200 for Paint and install but I am glad I did it.I had plans for the orignal spoiler but my boatwell went up $200 so that offset that. It is nice looking though so do whats right(Or put it on the card)

FordNut
03-09-2003, 08:07 AM
Not sure if the Roush price has dropped since your quote, but I paid 349 (339 + 10 shipping) for mine.

But, I think that's the spoiler that this car should have come with. Somehow, I think that would look just perfect on the convertible that they'll probably never build....with the ARE Torq Thrust wheels....

You guys really dont like the one ford offers? I think Jefferson is right sure looks like a wings west or some other aftermarket product. No thanks I'll stick to orig FOMOCO parts myself.

Cruz, from my experience w/ fords spoiler this does not appear to be a ford part. besides I have never seen a ford dealer accesory spoiler cost 600.00 pricing alone makes me think it is not a ford part. I could be wrong but it sure looks like a aftermarket spoiler that the dealer has added on. I have seen very similar spoilers on c/v's and gm's if not the same one.

I like a spoiler with 3rd light in the middle, but window light has to go.
4 brake lights are a little too much.

My 96 tbird sport with factory spoiler has NO brake light in the window.

No way Martyo, that's what's cool about this board. Everyone has a different opinion. And THAT really works too...........

I am already starting to sway my opinion, it's good to hear from the MM bretheren. It allows one to think straight again after going to the dark side.

Now I am waiting to see FORDNUT's Roush spoiler..........

PS: Still curious about this dealer's wing aquisition

I'm not sure I would want it on MY daily driver, but our local D.A.R.E. car (2000 CVPI, black) has one very much like that, and with the cool custom graphics on the car, it looks pretty good...(flames, eagles, American flags, etc).

Reaper948

The old spoiler one...the one I have.....
Has an integrated and sleek look......I think integrated is the key word

That new one just looks misplaced....Its not ricer but......it just doesnt fit that 'stealth' look...wouldnt u agree guys?*welll some of you*

But the extra brake light in my spoiler id kill for!

CRUZTAKER
03-09-2003, 01:15 PM
This is why I like peds:

This is the pedestal spoiler on the wife's LS.

We really like it, and have had many inquiries from other LS owners.
It DOES NOT look like a ricer wing in our opinion.

Just after I bought my MM I started looking around at after market spoilers, I considered the Ped mount pieces and thought they would look cool but now that I've seen one in the "Flesh" ...... I'm thinking "Nix" Your right Reaper..... "Intergrated" "Sleek" "Stealth"

Naw you can never have enough Brake light.

Someone needs to make a rear bumper cover with the "Marauder" letters as a brake light.

martyo
03-09-2003, 02:39 PM
Or, we could just make an entire Marauder out of brake lights.....

I like the look of the pedestal spoiler a lot more than the other, but it just doesn't go with the "stealth" look.

It's the same reason I would not do the Bob White decals even though I think they look cool.

Just getting a hookup from a local dealer.... I don't wanna get greedy with him so I can't pass on the deal but I think there are a few Ford dealer employees on here that migth be willing to share their employee discount... plus shipping, ask and you shall receive (thats what they taught me when I worked at a TOYOTA dealership (asking people for more money down//higher monthly payments on leases//etc.) LOL)

Ricer's basic wings came from American car designs of the late 60's and the 70's and the Can-Am cars. This wing is a look back to the Mustangs and others of that era.

I added a factory spoiler to my 1994 TBird. When my wife took it to NJ Inspection a few weeks later, the inspector failed the car for "too many brake lights". She took it home, I popped the bulb out, I went back and the car passed.

Maybe the guy was just in a bad mood, but it just wasn't worth fighting about.

I hope this product is a FOMOCO product, I like to keep it original. I like the pedestal wing, gives the Marauder a distinctive High Performance look, not that it needs the wing for that look because the tail pipes speak pretty loudly whether they're barking or not. Not to high and doesn't stick out the back. Nice! :beatnik:

I think that the original spoiler is the way to go. Very sleek and adds to the image the car was designed to project.

Didn't really want to get into this too much, but hell... I'm here.

I don't really care for spoilers one way or the other. I look at the origanal, and in some shots it looks good, but others it doesn't. Plus it looks to be a pita to wax around.

This one doesn't do it for me either. Not a "wing" guy.

I heath my warning to all. NO ALUMINUM WINGS!!! NO DOUBLE TIERED WINGS!!! You know what I mean, and for the sake of god, don't anyone even PS7 that! I'll be :puke: for the rest of the week!

I saw a Blue Marauder yesterday at my local LM dealer. It looks very nice! I am glad I have the black one, but the blue looks much better than I expected.

I think the pedestal spoiler and some pinstripes on the Blue would look totaly sweet!

The factory spoiler was a must when I purchased my ride. When I saw it early on in the brochure, I knew that if I bought a MM it would have to have it! It's sleek, slim, and sets the beast off just right.
