Seems when I was getting prices on having the windows tinted I ran over some gum. So I need some alternate advice on to get gum off the passenger wheel wells. I would usually use Bug & Tar remover or Goo Gone but with the pass. fender being repainted from the accident, 'don't want to mess up the uncured paint. The rear wheel well I'll use GG or Bug & Tar remover. :help:

Take yer' pick! I'm sure some of those will be just fine on paint.

No cost solution: go to your freezer and get an ice cube. That will do the trick.

I've thought about that but with it being 90+ and humid didn't know how effective that would be.

If you have a CO2 fire extinguisher, blast it to freeze it and them pick it off.

I've thought about that but with it being 90+ and humid didn't know how effective that would be.Just be quick. Or take a flexible plastic container (so you can pop the cube out) and make a bigger ice cube. The cube is still below freezing when making contact with the gum.

What kind of gum is it?
I've got a Siberian Husky that would lick that for days until its gone... so long as it has a little flavor left.
Let me know if you want to borrow her!

Do a good burnout and the gum will disappear under the rubber!

Vegetable oil, a clean shop rag and some elbow grease.
The oil keeps the mess from speading so the rag can rub the stuff off.

COLD is good advice here.
Wrap the cubes as if you were using them on a personal injury if you must .....
That should cut down on the melting some.

Well tried the ice. :shake: Didn't work. Don't know why but it didn't. Soooooo I used Goo Gone. Biiiiiiiggggg mistake. Took the wax right off and dulled the paint a little. But nothing that a buff and wax job could take care of.:mad2: Next time I'll just have remove it sooner and not wait 3 days. Oh Well.

The "sorta-kinda" method of madness behind the COLD is .... it should harden the crud(rather than sticky/gooey) .... & it should just kinda break away from the paint.
Surprised it didn't work.

The oil keeps the mess from speading so the rag can rub the stuff off. This guys right! My sister told me to use vegetable oil on the dealership logo sticker and that stuff does keep the sticky from spreading and lets the rag rub the gooey stuff right off and onto the rag, not the clearcoat.
Just try it.
