I currently have about 61000 miles on my 03 and was contemplating a trilogy sc...do you think that the sc will put too much pressure on the motor (because of the miles) and cause problems??

thanks

It's not something I'd personally be worried about... Not at 60k miles anyway...

That is a great question as I use my MM as a daily commuter and am not sure when I will get the chance to s/c it.

What kind of stress does a s/c put on the engine?
Is there any specific mileage that is considered off limits?

Thanks,
John

If you want to enjoy the benefits of extra power, as a daily driver, with an ocassional flogging I don't believe you have a thing to worry about as long as you took good care of your car up to now.

If you plan on adding S/C to go to the track every other week...yes I think you will have problems. Of course if you went to the track every other week with a new car, I also think you would have problems.

Go for it!
I am at 28,000 mi.I have a Trilogy kit on order.
I change fluids, at twice the recomended intervals.
Others can attest, If I go to the Strip, I race until close.
What Rider 90 said, Take care of her, like you want her, to take care of you!
I had to get over, the Powertrain warranty being voided.
You have to do, what's best for you!
Good Luck!

Ford produces two vehicles, that come with the same power adder, as The Trilogy uses, for the Marauder.
Ford would not build the Cobra Mustang and F-150 Lightning, using the same device, if they felt, that thier would be problems.

I worry about that too and I'm @ 20k. Just take good care of your car and it should take care of you back.

My Trilogy was installed at approximately 24k miles, I now have 44k. I drive it daily, obviously, with no internal issues to date.

I have the save question only at 75K miles. My MM is a ceritifed pre-owned which gives me a 6 year/75K powertrain warranty which I do NOT want to void. What do you SC guys think about adding it late in the game?

What do you SC guys think about adding it late in the game?A S/C will void your warranty. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt the Lightning have the same POS internals we have? I think so. If Ford can S/C this stock bottom end, so can you :D

I S/C mine @42K w/ 100+ runs down the 1320', now have 45K.

No internal probs, no oil or coolant is consumed.

It sat from Firday till today and no smoke at start up.

Go for it!

You shouldn't have to worry about bottom end as long as you stay with the stock boost setting supplied by Trilogy. What kills a supercharged engine is improper tuning (excessive boost, improper timimg, and insufficent fuel) not miles as long as the engine is properly maintained. I would first start with a leak down test and a compression test to get the engine condition before supercharging the engine.
