Any suggestions? I greased, and re-greased everthing. It's all tight and clean. I don't understand what could be causing it. My hood pins are greased also, but no making any noise. The sound is a high pitch squeak when going down rough road, or speed bumps. It's really bad pulling into my driveway.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

How long have you had them and noticed the noise? Did you get the fronts and back? Is the noise coming from the front or rear? I don't have the exact same shocks but I do have a full set, front and rear.

I think your cars have a rubber bushing or whatever they call it where the coil over sits. If not seated properly, it made noise. Something to that effect. If there is something wrong with the shock, they are rebuidable. I've had mine for over 6 months and done five autocross events and no problems yet.

My stock front end has started to squeak after the big hit in Apr.

My problem is the mechanic reinstalled and TIGHTENED all the fronk control arms with the wheels "hanging". How do i know? The bushings are now cracked and 'twisted".

If you look at the upper and lower control arm bushings they shouldn't have any twist to them if they do you'll get a squeak.

If you lowered the front when you installed the QA1's you probley twisted the bushings a little. The fix ,all though maybe just temperary,is to loosen the upper control arms with the weight off the wheels then lower the car and tighten them up.
You can do the same on the lower but it's a real pain because of the camber adjuster in the lower and the fact it takes about 150ftlbs of torque.

To get the inner sleeve to turn sometimes takes a shoot of WD40 and repeated jacking.

I'm still at a loss, I tried what you said. It still makes a lot of noise. I wish Naake would let me know something. They said it's normal... weird. I guess I will keep trying.

It's probably coming from your hood latch. My car made the same noise, and still does sometimes. Adjust the rubber stops (bumpers) on your hood so the latch is held tight against the mechanism. Be careful, though... too tight and the hood won't open when you pull the latch without somebody pushing down on the hood at the latch.

Hey Jesse,

Sorry to hear your still having your noise problems. I have no idea what could be making the noise, but feel free to stop by the shop sometime and we can check it out for you. We stand behind every shock that leaves this shop and if there is a problem with it we will make it right. Thanks again to everyone that has purchased the kits

LOL!!! Now that is funny to me.

I found this thread while Googling "QA1 Squeaks" as my RF QA1 squeaks on rebound.
Carfixer located the source as internal on the shock at Trilogy's shop last Friday.
Hope I can get them serviced..... the storckers are going back on until then.

Reading other posts on the 'net about this, it seems to occur often.

In one post, the poster stated that he had spoken with QA1 (Carrera) and they told him that the issue is high pressure fluid whipping by a spring behind the adjuster.

I'm waiting for a reply from them.

It's really an annoying squeak that I had spent 8-10 hours trying to find and fix..... it took Claude like 20 minutes......

interesting, I have had mine on for almost 4 years with no squeaks or anything, though the fronts constantly have to be adjusted up as they lose their ride height. I just noticed a sound the other day which made me think my rear driver's side door was open, after driving around today I was thinking it may be a rear shock.

It looks like my issue is the adjusters on rebound , especially the firmer you get.
I'll know more next week.
