Well last night I went up to Moroso and met up with a newer Member, MarauderMarc.

Got there early, so we managed 6 runs a piece by 9pm. We have fairly equal cars, both are running a tune and K&N FIPK, and thats about it.

Hot you say? Well we were seeing roughly 96F and humidity was in the 85% range, yes so perfect for racing...... not. Anyway the two Black "Grand Marquis" got lined up a few times and as expected we ran damn close.

MarauderMarc versus Me

Run 1 15.188@95.05/.565 versus 15.124@93.85/.318 ***6:50pm @ 96F
Run 2 ricer versus 15.152@94.62/.241 ***7:07pm @ 96F
Run 3 ricer versus 15.008@94.81/.249 ***7:36pm @ 89F
Run 4 14.983@95.15/.159 versus 15.011@94.64/.126 ***8:11pm @ 87F
Run 5 15.073@94.98/.233 versus 15.092@94.68/.099 ***9:02pm @ 85F

Our first true run we got no timeslips, that okay I didn't have time to air down the tires and managed to spin at launch. All in all good fun aside from the blistering heat and no AC allowed , safety first!

I'm happy with those RT considering Marc would get staged before me everytime so basically the tree went as soon as I lined up. Hell I think the last run I actually hammered it when the second yellow light came on

We made a run from the track over to Jupiter for a beer and re-hash the fun. I think Marc will make it down for Tower Shoppes the 15th, and he'll be heading over for the Picnic the 24th as well! Maybe he'll post a follow up to this here.

PS I like Marc's style, the Tech inspector asks him "any Nitrous, supercharger, turbocharger?" He answers???? "Not yet!" :burnout:

Rule of thumb around these parts is "if you see green, you're late".

Now that I've gone and said that, one of my local tracks is sure to buy new equipment and I'll have to start all over again...

60's were running (from memory) 2.32-2.33 range. I've run 2.277-2.28 before under coller conditions, but again we were both on factory gears.

Yes Sarge, green = the bus left without you. I usually leave right as the third yellow lights up, I dont stage 'deep' and the car as is doesn't 'shoot' out of the hole like my 5.0 used to. But thats what 1300# and a cushy ride will do for you!

Ah yes...Wednesday night.....good night indeed. I really had a great time with Shakey. Nothing is better than hanging out with someone with the exact hobby as you do. We met @ 6pm at Moroso and were able to get 6 runs in by 9pm. Word to the wise, get there @ 545 to ensure the most runs. We were pretty even matched. When I brought up that I had an extra 80 lbs in the trunk (small body) he came back with him having 3/4 tank of gas compared to my 1/3!! So we were pretty even-steven. We saw alot of nice Cobras and Lightnings, but we did catch alot of stares and questions, my favorite of the evening was "that theres an interceptor, aint it"......whatever. My best time was 14.983 @ 95.15mph....my best ever was 14.7 something. Cant wait to get more mods. I really think that I found a great group of people...cant wait to do it again. As for the 15th, Ill be there and count me in for the 24th as well. Thanks again Shakey for joining me at Moroso. By the way, anyone consider doing a SSM meet once or twice a month at Moroso???? I would be interested in putting something like that together. Ill see you all soon.......Marc

Yeah yeah yeah, well jsut you wait until I'm not half out of it getting over a head cold. Oh and we'll just see how your RT is in 10 years! :)

Looks like my best 60 foot was 2.310 (of the night)

Wish we could see a Trilogy or Procharger car show up, nice to see them flat stomp these ricers.....
