Unfortunately the Hemmings reporter was using the figure that
less than 1% of all Mercury Grand Marquis were Marauders.
That's how they got the 870 number.
1% of 87,000 GM built. for 2003. (More GM's were built, but that's the number
they used for their stats)
What happened to 2004 is anybodies guess?

They may have also been quoting the sellers paperwork and they were trying to get more for a "rarer" car. To bad the magazine doesn't check facts though. I remember the misstatement of production numbers when they compared the Marauder to the Impala SS, but those numbers were still higher than the 800 listed and that article was less than 1 year ago!

Yup-that's the figure they used! "approximately 870-that's no typo" words by Jim Donnelly Senior editor! He also stated "the muscle Mercury came and went in less than a year" They cannot lie can they? Isn't it against the law? Ergo: it MUST be true!
