Dammit if the recipricating saw did not go thru the tires sidewall after I cut off the exhaust pipe:mad2: . Note to self and others, if the thought crosses your mind that perhaps I should leave this to a pro:help: , well you get the piont.
P.S. It was my wifes car though:sweat: and no I did not put a fartcan muffler on the VW.

It could have been worse. You didn't get hurt and that is the main thing. :)
It's only a tire.

I used a saw-zawl (sp?) to cut the tailpipes off of the stock mufflers on my Marauder during the Kooks header & exhaust package installation, and it worked great. It went through the tailpipe very good, and I was in control the whole time. I should make mention that I also had the car on my brother's lift at the time. But it was also the first time I've ever used a saw-zawl. But for me, it wasn't about saving money. it was about knowing that the job would get done right (particularly the header installation).:)

Your welcome, actually I was breaking on you. Saws all, sawz-all, sawz'll, sawzil , whatever, is what we've always called it. :P mighty handy tool.

Milwaukee produces a reciprocating saw under the trademarked name Sawz-All.

I love Sear's return policy.
Back when I was about 20 I wanted to 'tunnel' out my truck (after putting on the windowless camper shell, cut the wall between the cab and bed to make it into a van so you can put a zillion subwoofers in it) but didn't own a Sawz All so I bought one and a metal blade (didn't want to use the ones it came with so they looked as new) and did the cut job then returned it.
It worked great.
