Anyone have a clue how accurate/responsive our OEM coolant temp guage is? I do not have an aftermarket coolant temp gauge and I want to experiment with blocking off some of the lower airways in the front facia, the ones around the front license plate. I want to see if it has an effect on the coolant temp but I want to be sure the gauge will reflect the change if it does occur. Like most everybody else my gauge points at 19mph rain or shine, in town or on the freeway, although it did momentarily spike last year when I changed my thermostat and didn't get the air out of the crossover tube.
The hole in the facia closest to the driver's side foglamp is already completely obstructed by a 4" duct I have running up into my airbox. I want to obstruct the same hole on the passenger side but run the duct to cool the passenger side brake rotor. Which means that I've got to find an additional intake point, probably in the near middle of the facia, to run a cooling duct to the driver's side brake rotor. Comprendais? :bandit:
