Was leaving the DLA headquarters on Fort Belvior today...as a contractor I get to park off site and ride a shuttle bus. Driving by the visitor lot I saw a black MM sitting there. It had a yellow liscense plate which I don't think VA offers...I know Maryland does, but I couldn't tell the state.
So, just curious if anyone here was at DLA today. I'm there most of the time, we could have lunch in their overpriced cafeteria. :)

Must be a DLA kinda thing. I am at Belvoir most every day on the south side of post. Always get a wave and a smile when the Blue MM pulls up to the gate. :D
Yellow tags .... Jersey, perhaps?? :dunno: Maryland has those yellow-orange Halloween plates.

Yeah my friend and I come through the Telegraph Rd Gate, he has a Vette, we seem to get the "random vehicle check" alot, it's just so the security guys can check out our cars. :) We're allowed on post, but technically we're not supposed to park at DLA being contractors because they are low on parking on the facility...so they have an offsite lot on post.
With the hot weather I don't mind the shuttle as much, it does drop you right at the front door, so no long walk in 95 degree weather to go home.
Hopefully I'll spot it again. :)

I would have thought that a Billion Dollar Taj Mahal like DLA would have come with a decent parking lot/garage for all the people that work there.

Haha, one might think. :) The way the building is designed there's tons of free speace in the middle where the main walkway is, so tons of free space but they are running out of office space already. So it's not a very efficient building design in terms of managing available space...
Word is a parking garage is in the works for contractors, who knows maybe it'll be done when the springfield interchange is complete. ;) (Only VA'ers might get that joke...actually it's not all that funny... :( )

Saw him again! Parked closer this time. I was riding the bus to pick my car up, by the time I came back on DLA he was gone. I got back around 6pm...yeah, working until about 11 tonight... :(
Oh well I know he's a regular, will leave a card next time I spot the car.
