So I took my Dad to the Car Craft Summer Nationals at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds today and boy we where glad we went and I brought the camera. I would like to say first that my Dad told me on the way there as we where driving along in my MM that he is going to be buying his own MM soon:D (super charged no doubt:D ). Back to my sweet find, I saw a nice 05 red Mustang that looked a little tricked out so I we went over to have a look and parked on the other side of it was the coolest MM I've seen yet:eek: . It was sitting there, almost on it's frame thanks to some airbags. It had a louvered hood, one-of-kind wheels with much wider tires, control arms, Super Charger, painted headlamps to give the apperence of having two round headlamps, custom grill, the side molding was modified and had a Mercury emblem incorparated into it, larger crome exhaust tips, and of coure a 5-Speed.
The MM belong's to Paul's High Performance, Inc. in Jackson, MI. I did not ask the guy there the obvious question "are you Paul?" because I was too excited but I did ask how fast it is and the answer was "It ran a 1/4 in 11.4 @ 138 MPH" . http://www.mercurymarauder.net/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2896 On a side note here, I did find some of the guys from the local Impalla SS club and thanked them for there invited to save spots for our MM's. If this car is old news please forgive my ignorance, if not enjoy the pictures.

They were at MVII in Indy last year. Pretty cool Marauder, even they did have to sit out the drag racing. They must of got the manual tranny squared away.
I liked the bagged look too. I didn't notice the headlight treatment or the finned hood before though.
Now that's what you call a heavily modified Marauder.

Paul CHEATED...
He's got the airbox on the WRONG SIDE...
He used a MUSTANG SuperCharger.

I'm liking the manual trans idea.... prefer the 6 speed btw. Not real hip on the lowered stance. Your ride was looking pretty clean! Like your choice in color..

That car ran at Indy last and broke the transmission. From what I know of this car it has broken it's tranny quite a bit going down the track. This is what happens when you put a Cobra drivetrain into a big heavy car. I am not a fan of the slammed-air-bag look. Also, the headlights look too ricey for me. to each their own.

I'd love the 5-Speed.
For a little while.

Maybe I am just more traditional (or simply a dork) but I would be embarrassed to ride around in that Marauder. It is way too much. I feel like they did everything to it that they could think of. The rims would be ok (but not better them OEM) without the black panels since they hide the brakes. Also, it is lowered to the point where it makes the car look way too long. The exhaust pips ugly and worse the left one hangs down lower than the right one. The mesh grill looks good but not with the mercury emblem on it. The rounded headlights get me a little confused. Can anyone really say they look good on a Marauder?
Well, this is one of my most negative posts to date and I hope not to get flamed too badly.

I little too "pimp" for me...... although I like the louvers but maybe on the front fenders just in front of the door not on the hood..... To each his own.......

I like the manual tranny, I like the headlights, I like the engine. The Front Grill is even growing on me, But I dont care for the lowered look, I hate those rims,The tail pipes stink,The hood scoop's are a lousy touch, But 11 second 1/4 miles times happen to make up for the awful mods on the car.

That car was also in the hot rod power tour as well .but i belive it had to cut that short due tranny problems as well..

I think the fact that they removed the belt line plastic trim makes the car look more muscular.

A lot of people say they dislike the slammed lowered look. With airbags he can have it sit anywhere from above stock height to slammed as it is.
Thats the beauty of the whole thing is you lift it up to where you like it :P

So you CAN put a Mustang supercharger on MM......:)
I would like to know what the process is there.

I looks a little sick to me but 11 sec quarters make up for all its short-comings. I what a manual tranny too.

It is a very big process. All the plumbing for the Mustang is to the right where in the MM it is to the left. Plus there would be a lot of fabricating to make it work. If you go through that costly process you may as well buy the Trilogy kit. It use the same Eaton Blower but was developed for the MM..

Yea, but the air intake is off to the right though - that makes all the effort worth while.

..I see your coil covers, looks nice. I was thinking about having a set etched. Seems to me a water etcher/cutter set at the correct pressure would make a nice Merc Marauder name or emblem on those......I'll have to find someone who can do work like that.:)

Some people swing to the left, others lean to the right
I just want mine to be straight up
