Fog Lights switched

I've done several "searches" but not found what I need to know...
I want to switch my fog lights so that they come on with out any other lights being on........Has anyone done this????
My logic :confused: says that I must disconnect them from the other lights (Parking & Headlights) and then switch them independently....
I want to run them as "running" lights as well as fog lights when needed...

Search for "daytime running lights" or "DTR". It seems our Canadian friends have this as a standard feature (required by law?).

Stupid things fixed them now they don't shut off!!!
who's dumbaXX idea were these things...
The fog lights should have a separate wire from the headlight switch..
hookup a separate switch with power to the wire at the H/light switch
should work...Haven't tried it yet but it should be farely simple...:D

From what I've been told, it is illeagal for the fog lights to come on without the headlamps in most states. This is why the car is made that way!!!

OK then WTF is up with my car?? I can put on just my markerlamps and the foglamps just by selecting it on the dash. I have a 03 300a. is this another little difference in the cars through the years? I also dont have Daytime running lights. Either the function stopped working or Mine never had it to begin with.

It is very possible that driving with fog/driving lights only...
You are less visible to other drivers...
could be illegal it is also illegal to have more than four forward
facing running lights on at one time ie high beams and driving lights...
It is in canada also illegal to run without DTR for any vehicles built after
1990..(although many don't work,even my marauder was certified with
non functioning DTR's and I have never heard of ticket issued for this
offence)..Knowing the local laws before modifing any safety item such
as Lights is well advised...my problem with the DTR's is when the vehicle is
parked the lights stay on at what appears to be full power and puts an
unnecessary load on the Battery and Alt...any other vehicle I have owned
will shut off the DTR's when in park or the park brake is applied for some reason
this does not work on the marauder..:shake: Go figure?!
The oem driving(Fog)lights do not provide an effective lighting system
for night driving..I don't even use them..
My fog/driving lights do come on without the headlights and park lights are on
/ when dtrs didn't work.
Some Canadian vehicles use the driving lights as DTR's so the original
question did not seem so strange or illegal (ie canadian HINO trucks)

That is the way they are supposed to work...ie normal
there was no changes here
The original question was how to turn them on without the park lights.
And this would affect other divers seeing this vehicle in poor lighting
conditions..

Here are 2 scenarios...
Both are NORMAL OPERATIONS of the vehicles...

2004 300A Marauder
Parking lights on - Fog lights can be switched on.
Headlights on - Fog lights can be switched on.

2003 Focus ZTW
Parking lights on - Fog lights can be switched on, but they will NOT turn on.
Headlights on - Fog lights can be switched on.

2 different vehicles, 2 different lighting patterns.
