Does anyone know a reputable Exhaust Shop ?

I am thinking of installing the Kooks exhaust with Magnaflows,
but I'd like to know if anyone here has had it done already ?

There is a MagnaFlow dealer near me, that says he does all Exhaust work,
but I 've got to go and see if he has some references before I let him touch my Marauder.

American Muffler 815 old country road in westbury, He has flowmasters and Cherry bomb mufflers like I have. He charged me $200 for the mufflers installed with a lifetime warranty on the welds and the mufflers. plus they were really nice and got the job done fast and done right. there was also a Impala SS on the Lift getting headers installed. Plus Kooks is out on Long Island. If anyone could install them, It would be them.

I concur, American Muffler has two shops on Long Island. I believe the other one is in Long Beach. Their work is excellent. They do a lot of classic car exhaust systems.

Yeah but the one in long beach has had a few of my friends a bit angry with them with the prices and the work.

I'd like to hear the reason behind this also.
If they are the only ones to make long tube headers for us,
then why are you referring to them as KROOKS ???

Effster knows them for a very long time,
and he has been building all of their racing engines.
He has never spoken about them this way.

I picked up my kit right from the Kooks shop located at 200 Candlewood Rd in Bayshore (Near Entenmanns Bakery). While I was there, I picked up the Megs delete tips too. I used a shop 5 minutes away they recomended for the install.

Originally, I was going to go with the FMS duel mode mufflers, but ended up with the Magnaflows because the kit they had ready to go and was not designed to accomodate the offset outlet of the Ford mufflers. In short, it would have taken more time and money (both of which I didnt have to spare) to make the DMs fit. Besides, I liked the sound of the complete Kooks set up that I've heard on other members cars.

The DMs will be installed later if these Magnaflows become annoying.

Thanks again to DR for running this group purchase :2thumbs:

We call them "Crooks" due the high prices they charge. Great Product, Definate, But unless you are doing a group buy, They Are quite Costly

Costly compared to what? Custom, low production parts are expensive to make and sell. Let's face it, there are not a lot of options here.

I had a custom set up hand built. Comparatively, the Kooks set up is a bargain.

With the above in mind, ask yourself whether you could do things cheaper than Kooks does.

Just my thoughts.
