I saw this at a performance shop in South Atlanta. I'm not saying I like it, just thought y'all might be interested.

And the hood, which has a Mustang hood bonded on top of it. The fake scoop is not installed, but this is the same as a Mustang GT hood. Funny, is's bonded on top of the original hood but has no purpose, it could possibly be used to provide additional clearance for 5.4 if the original hood was modified.

It's getting a built motor and a Procharger F1R.

Looks like a Jimmy Morgan cab without the water bumpers. To each his own I suppose.

Could be an STR or maybe an SBTR !! Not to my personal taste; but I do like that Candy Apple Red. Unusual 2-tone design -- seems the red comes too high. Maybe at mid-door level and leave the hood silver would have been a better treatment IMHO. :dunno: Anyway, it appears the owner loves his MM, too !!!

Ditto that first impression. Looks like one of our local "Northwest Taxi" cabs from around here.

You won't get any complaints from the owner with the stripe kit, although who knows, maybe they'll get removed and buffed out and replaced with a flaming skull on the hood. -kjs-

um, not for me.
I prefer Keiths double stripes any day.
Notice that they paintind the grille too - shoulda left that alone. Next thing you know they will powdercoat the wheel red.

It looks like a Silver with some DTR (candy apple variation) to hide possible repairs. hmmmm.... I am also out on the way the paint is divided.
:help:
If they would only put some 24''s on it. then I can tell where they're going with this....:puke:

I like them both, except for the mustang hood.

I like the two tone color just not the way the paint breaks. Maybe if they had it diagonal from low front to high rear or left it silver with candy apple flames.

the line should have continued to the tip of the fender; if it kept following its course it would have been nicer.

I might have ran the red high in the back to blend out the taillights and ran the silver low in the front for less maintainence from stone chips.

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/gallery/data/500/medium/MMOH2A.JPG Actually, I kinda like this approach.
It has impact, splash. Had the owner taken it all to the next level and blended in our blue and DTR hues, this example would kick butt, IMHO.
Flames seem at home on a Marauder, symbiotic if you will.
It's one thing to be an owner, it's quite another to have an opinion. BTW, if anyone can find me a decent flame shirt, I'd wear it with pride. Flames and the MercuryMarauder.Net seem to go together, in a "gellen" sort of way.

hmmm,.. I dunno. Maybe with some red power coated wheels like Barry's MM.
..or how about a Silver Birch with DTR stripes like Keith's MM?

Inside door jambs and inside hood is black, so I figure both the silver and red are brand new.

The sign of an inexpensive paint job. :(

Fordnut,
Do you happen to know if the owner is going to add the mustang scoop to the hood?
I did a photoshop of the same idea a while back.

Will you be able to get photos of the car when it is finished?
Thanks

Seeing the black and silver together made me think... I'd like to see a Marauder with the Harley two-tone scheme... I think it would look hot!:bounce:

I'd take the black and silver one over the red and silver.
If I had a bad factory paint job like some folks seem to have gotten jammed with, and they would not repaint it, I could very easily see myself doing what they have done to these or a wicked wicked flame job. Red white and orange flames against dark pearl blue, ooooohhhhhh my!

I have thought about such things. Finances keep me thinking more about gofast goodies if I ever get much disposable cash together. And some days, I do like to be nearly invisible.

I stopped by the shop today, it's gone to the interior shop. Theyh say the engine and blower are installed, but the accessories (fan, radiator, etc.) are not yet connected. They claim it'll be making around 700 rwhp. We'll see soon. Hope to get more pics when it's finished.

Didn't say I liked it, just letting the members see what some people are doing to them.
Here's one, for more detailed pics of this ride, check out my gallery:
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/gallery/data/500/medium/DSC01077.JPG
BTW, it has a procharger F1R and is not yet intercooled, so far it's making 570 rwhp but expecting much more once the intercooler is on.

I have an 04 sliver MM, I'm thinking about doing black racing stripes on it.
I was thinking a darker grey metallic set of stripes (like navchaps) would look good on silver.

In that picture it looks like they added a third colour.
The body of these cars doesn't lend itself well to a 'natural' break line for two-toning. Unless it's low as they do for the two-tomr GMs. (and even that is a little odd looking to me)

I just got done looking through the pics that FordNut posted.
And who ever owns this car spend a lot of time and money on this project.
I am not a fan of the paint scheme, maybe if the colors were reversed.
But I do like the mustang hood.
I hope the owner enjoys his custom ride.

The "decals" say 351, is that what is under the hood? Any idea on how difficult the swap was?

I'm wondering. . .has anyone done a black and blue Marauder paint scheme????

No, it's just a built 4.6. No decals, it's all painted on. Dude just liked the old "Boss 351" Mustangs I reckon. Some of the blingin' is a bit overboard, but the Marauder and god's head in the rear quarter panel stripes are ok (not that I'd put it on my car), along with the embroidered headliner and custom god's head wheel center caps.

Regardless of if what he did "Floats my boat", there is a lot of detail, hard work, and effort into that Marauder. I'm sure with the investment the owner has, well, invested...That Marauder will be cared for.

Put some numbers on the sides and vendor lablels on the fenders and it'd look almost like a NASCAR vehicle...almost.

I am not sure that I like the overall of everything but there are a lot of things that I admire and the workmanship and attention to detail is pretty obvious. This is a very impressive ride and will get eyes everywhere all the time. It certainly opened my brain as to what might be possible. I like the more restrained Silver on Black for my taste and the idea of working the DTR and Blue into the scheme is a great idea. If the Brinks truck overturns in my driveway I want all of you to help me with ideas for my MM. Dennis

I've only seen a few cars I like two tone on.
Generally, I think it's for trucks and SUVs.
Now if the whole car was that candy apple red, I could go for that. http://mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/smilies/165.gif
I have a crap early 300a black paint job, so I will be looking to do something in the future.
Maybe True Blue to match my f250. :)
But probably stick with Black, as I am not as creative as others.
