I am a club of ONE! :P

I will start this thread because:

1) Someone else in Ohio (not in retirement) will buy a MM.
2) They might have a computer and internet access.
3) They MAY find this forum site.
4)They MAY find this post.
5)They may help this club become a force of ........2.

Do I hear crickets?

Hey Cruz! If southwest Ohio is acceptable then you got a crowd
of two. BTW(I am catching on) I love that liscense plate. I wonder
how it got past the bureau. What's AFR (air to fuel ratio)? Sorry
I have a ways to go on web site ability.

Thanks.

Are you sure anyone else in Cleveland can even use a computer?:flamer:

Seriously, even I've considered doing the 4-hour jaunt for a little breakfast in Atlanta. (Couldn't we make it brunch?)

Good luck CT. Hang in there ... I'm sure another MM will join you in NE Ohio exile eventually.

Cruz,
Have been too busy to read posts lately, I'm about 30-40 miles away from you. I've met two other MM owners (both visitors to this site) lately and have seen at least 2-3 others on the road in my neck of the woods, about 30 minutes west of Cleveland. PM me, when you get back to town.

Hello Ohio MM owners!

If you want to meet somewhere in the middle of the state, I'll offer our LM dealership in Columbus, maybe a Saturday this summer. I'll buy lunch, and you guys can display your Marauders. I can contact the half dozen or so customers I've sold, and maybe get a group photo for this site.

Any takers?

Well doggie...look at you CRUZ!!

Not only a bunch of new friends but a willing, sponsoring L/M dealer (by the way Ron Rush has the best stuff on his site regarding the Marauder. It's where the screensaver and customer profile came from)

Welcome Daily03, another from Columbus I see.....that's good!
We are up to seven now. That's great, I suppose there are many more out there, just haven't found this 'congregationsite' yet.

TomK: You are still quite the cruz from me....but Columbus is way too far. There are alot of folks from NY on this site....I know, it's a BIG state, but I think it would be far more efficient to hook up in NY with the NY bretheren. Don't get me wrong, you are more than welcome here. In fact, you will soon learn about Dennis Reinhart, a sponser here on this site, and all his awesome upgrades he has to offer. One of his connections is based out of a little town off I-90 near Erie. There is also a Dyno this fellow utilizes in Eastlake, Ohio. He can not only hook us up with Dennis' product, he can install as well. This is a VERY good contact, VERY close to home for those of us who are not advanced motorheads.

Anyone close to me, looking into upgrades, let me know if you need help first hand. I love road trips, and many of the upgrades we can do OURSELVES. I also have family working for Ford Motor Co. I can get some parts at cost. I am holding out on a spoiler, maybe this summer. We can multiple order, I have also installed spoilers before. Gears are definately on my list. I think we can do gears+install for about $400 or so. Especially if we do more than one. All of you guys need to get the chip! There is NO question here, this is the first and possibly the ONLY upgrade some of you will do.....but hear us all....
THIS YOU WON'T REGRET!!!!! :P

Everyone stay in touch, or hit me with an e-mail, sometimes we wander away from the site for awhile, and there is no other way to make contact.

Well might as well type the reason I got a Marauder. First I was going to get the New RX8 by Mazda looks nice and well probably be good. But I could not get S-plan or Z,X and Mazda was not offering any incentives on them either than I looked at Mercury since they been running ads for 0% financing and so forth. Well the reason is simple for what I paid for price, insurance. I could not pass up MSRP for mine was 34,896 got mine after Rebates,Zplan,Down Payment for 26,000 And Insurance is what is amazing For a GT Mustang would run me $2000 a year
New Mach1 $2300 99/01 Cobra about the same as Mach
And the 03 Cobra $3500!!!!! Yikes
Marauder $1400 a year and has the same Engine as Mach/Cobra99/01 total sleeper to as a lot of people think its an appearance package only or an ex cop car or real unmarked one.

Only one other running around in my county and I know him big Merc fan has like 9 other classic Mercs. Dad worked with him until he retired.

I like it that you don't see yourself at every intersection. And the idiot moronic rice a roni crowd really gets a shock. Might be big but its not slow. But my dads silver truck kind of puts the hurt on it. So if anybody has shows meets and the likes let me know.

Oh my.....not only a local.....but a man after my own heart.

I owned 3 mazda rx-7's in my time. I was a BIG rotory fan. Nothing like a 2400lb car with 200 to 400 hp in an engine that redlines at or above 9000 rpm and likes it. In no way possible could you hurt this motor by redlining.....period.

I sold my last one, a 1998 2nd gen. last year. I will never go back, but I will never forget it either. Too much fun as a youngin'

Back to v-8's for me, and no more redlining....it's all good!

I'd like to have 4.10's installed at your dealership next week. Could you certify that it won't void the factory warranty like some folks here say their dealer has done? If so please PM me so I can make an appointment. I already have the gears

Add one more.

You mean there are people in Cleveland under age 70 and not retired or unemployed?? Cleveland might be possible in summer but too far to be convenient. Out of range for winter. (My old daily driver is too rickety for Interstates now, LOL.)

Columbus wouldn't be too far for me to travel. And there's even a L-M dealer there who's gotta clue. My local dealer caters to the Town Car lease crowd only, so I will definitely look elsewhere to buy.

CRUZTAKER

I was wondering if you would find this thread. I noticed in the "normal" thread a couple of Ohio posters who have not hit this thread yet.

Welcome, it's nice to here from you. And YES, the younger crowd does appear to be eminating from Ohio. This is even better.

As far as a future meet, I am thinking Columbus is the fairest midway point. Plus it will allow for a real "road trip" for some of us.

If your sticker is a thick plastic type try using a piece of Fishing Line to remove it. I have done this on several of my cars and it has worked very well. After removing it you can use polish or cleaner to remove the adhesive material.

I have some ideas but need you folks to bring some also. I plan on having another meeting in February at the same place to get 2004 in motion.

I sure know a lot of Ohio folks travel south for vacations and such, so it may help you to know...

The Carolina group has a regular meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

The Atlanta group has a regular meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

I intend to always make Carolina meeting (since I am here, after all), occasionlly hit Atlanta (especially for events like Dyno Tunes).

A lot of folks living in the South now are from the North and go back regular like. Sure would be interesting to plan a trip to encompass a regular Ohio meet not on a meet weekend in the South... say the 1st or 4th Saturday of every month... hmmmm.

I am also watching out for the national meet in Ohio I've heard about somewhere around here.

I found a highly professional speed shop in Avon, Ohio. Very, very, recommended by the likes of the owner of Dynotech in Eastlake, Ohio....and Jerry makes special visits there as well.

Realizing it's winter, and I am parked, I will be visiting this shop in person, in the spring. They will be doing my Kooks header package, pullies, and drive shaft.

I then will be going to Dynotech in Eastlake for 3 pulls and check the results. Dynotech also has Jerry available by appointment for super tunes in the summer.

We now have some great options in NE Ohio.

Hello to all:

This is a mass mailing to inform those who might be interested.

The 2nd annual Eastern Mercury Marauder meet is planned for Cleveland Ohio. I invite you all to visit the thread at the url attached and vote for a date, submit your comments, and let me know if you are interested in a dyno day. The dyno day will be in Eastlake Ohio, and coordinated with the owner of Dynotech, Dennis Reinhart, and a possible power tune opportunity with Jerry W.

This should be a great turnout, and folks are pushing me for schedules. I need everyone who plans on attending to hit this thread, so that I may continue to plan all the details imperative to a great get together in 2004.

Just stumbled across this thread...I see you have no members from the "forgotten Ohio"...Toledo. I hope I wouldn't be member number 13!

Welcome again SKP369,

Trust me, you found the "forgotten" thread alot quicker than most. There are still Ohioans on board that have been here months and still haven't hit this thread.

If and when we do get organized, maybe I'll ask Rick to give us a headliner at the top of the forum instead of being hiden in the 'regional' catergory.
