The install took about 45 minutes, thanks go to Fordnut, Petrograde, and Bradley@Dynopros for the past threads covering the install. Like Petrograde said, the PITA was getting the EGR gasket back on and within the holes. The EGR wants to settle back where it used to be and you gotta pull up and towards you to get it lined up...PITA. Just after starting the job I tightened one of the bolts on the intake to get a feel for how tight this should be, got the feel, and no leaks or broken bolts.
I was also very happy to report that after 17,000 miles of having my K&N FIPK with the Drycharger wrap that there was ZERO residue, dust, anything within the throttle body. I inspected this after I removed the airtube and everything looked like new.
When I took the upper intake off I peeked inside and figured "I'd struck gold!" is it supposed to be so golden? I'm sluggish off the line at WOT, but if I ease into it slower I have more power it seems. Could I be too rich/lean at WOT or is this all normal?
Ok, the result. Throttle response was definately improved, it felt like my throttle cable was jumped a few centimeters making it more "Touchy" when you first ease into it. I noticed no problems at WOT nor did I notice any decrease in performance at any RPM level. So basically, a little boost off the line but not too much to brag about to your friends. Nothing night and day, but a little reassurance that you didn't waste your time and money when the job is done and you go for a test drive.
