I am now the proud new owner of JimBoss's '04 MM. This replaces my beloved '03 (RIP). Some things notices with the '04 is the lack of quite a few features. Besides the obvious no clock and manual fuel lid there were quite a few other deletes. No map pockets on the front of the front seats, a short overhead console that lacks the sunglass compartment, no light under the hood, and no auto park brake release. The other thing I noticed was that the valve covers were aluminum not plastic like my '03. I liked the contrast of the black valve covers against the aluminum heads. I may have them painted or coated.
What I did notice is the car shifted much better and didn't seem to short shift 4th like the older '03 program. I'm not sure if this was due to revised programming by Ford or the new DR programm from the SCT9100.
Anyways, I am very happy to be back behind the wheel of a MM. Thanks Jim.

Congrats on your recent purchase. Would you like a free OASIS report????No thanks, Jim was very diligent in saving every service reciept since new. I know more about this car than I do about my own two kids.

Congratulations on the new MM. You'll notice more things, I'm sure. Were the old '03, valve covers really plastic?
Anyone who claims to know anything about their kids is delusional.

Yes, black plastic.

Yes, black plastic.
Nope. Painted aluminum. Plastic would not hold up to the heat in that area.
'04s just didn't get any paint. Same covers just plain.

Now I have to go look at my valve covers. Honestly, I rarely look under the hood. Too busy driving. :) Glad to hear you're back in the saddle again.
