I have wanted one for a while, ordering or even finding a 2005 GT on the lot was impossible to find. Only thing to do was order a new 2006!
now.....what color scheme do you prefer?

If you get the silver w/ the red stripes, get the red interior too. Opt up for the "My color" dash and get the alarm system that also has a both window down feature from the remote. I'll leave the MM wheel option up to you. I prefer the stock Bullitts.

Just my .02 and then some.

Whats wrong with that?! Besides, whats wrong with six figures? And I still like you! Problem is, I am running out of garage space to park and wrench on my fleet. My mom wont let me use her garage, so im out of luck. I hate waiting, I like instant gratification, so I will get the 2006 GT, and I put my Shelby on hold as well....who knows when that will really roll off...

Problem is, I am running out of garage space to park and wrench on my fleet.

I am having the same problem. I run down every listing for garage space for rent. Some of what I see is real crap. And, with NY real estate prices being what they are, I am either going to move to Atlanta once and for all or break ground and build a garage behind my house.

Marty,
What's it take to get on the list? Do you need to put a down payment on the car? The last I saw, they hadn't settled on the final price tag. Are they even ready to talk about options?

If you need a garage in Georgia I'm more than willing to whore out mine. I'll park the Z outside next to the MM for the right price :P

I like the blue with white strips too. I've seen too many white cars already. I've even seen a couple pea green V6's. Yuck.

If you could wait for the Shelby, that would be a sweet ride. I contemplate getting one when it comes out all the time.

My favorite car has always been a 69 Red Mustang. My first car was "almost" a 73 Red Mach I, but my dad put his foot down and said I would get too many speeding tickets with that car. WHO? ME? :P . Oh and if you need a place to keep a car, my garage is available.....as long as I can drive once in awhile :D .

I just went to the website shown in the pictures...those aren't MM wheels! But they are the-equally-good-looking CV LX Sport wheels...

And Marty, if you think NY's real estate prices are steep, try Honolulu's...I'm not even going to be able to buy a place out there...

And I'll shake my ass for Marty anytime...just gimme a ride in the Legal Kneivel... :baaa:

Dont know how to break this to you...the other rim isnt from the CV LX sport. It was one of the prototype Mustang rims from earlier car shows, and is known as the 18 in "fanblade" rim.....

There is also another optional rim, and it will be on Mustang GTs for 2006 1/2, and it is the 18 in Mercury Marauder rim. I saw a couple of 2005 Mustang GTs around the test track when we were there for open house sporting Marauder rims...in fact, I think someone posted a pic of a Green GT with our rims on it.

Here it is...This is an 18 in 2006 optional Mustang rim...not from a LX Sport

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/gallery/data/500/64E.jpg

And here is a Press Release about 2006 Mustangs:

"Job 1, when production begins, is slated for August 8, 2005.

The 2006 Mustang was unveiled at the Mid-America Ford Performance and Shelby Meet in Tulsa, Oklahoma in mid-June 2005. The major addition for 2006 is the V6 Pony Package. With an MSRP of $1,195, the Pony Package, which is available on V6 coupe and convertible, comes standard with a new 1965 Mustang GT-inspired grille which features a traditional corral surrounding the pony and horizontal bars which lead to small chrome-trimmed grille-mounted foglamps. The Pony is the first six-cylinder Mustang in the 40+ year history of the car to come standard with 17" wheels--the same "Bullitt" wheels that were standard on the 2005 Mustang GT. The wheels, outfitted with a unique tri-bar Pony center cap, will be wrapped in P235/55ZR 17-inch tires. The Pony has a new thin-thick-thin rocker panel tape stripe with "MUSTANG" lettering on the door and comes standard with a rear spoiler and GT-inspired suspension modifications featuring a larger front stabilizer bar, the addition of a rear stabilizer bar, 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking system (ABS) and traction control.

The GT will have several options for 18" wheels including the "fanblades" from the 2004 showcars, 18" Bullitt, and 18" Marauder wheels.

Sonic Blue will be replaced with Vista Blue, and Mineral Grey will be replaced with Tungsten Grey. Tungsten was called Titanium when it was featured on the 2004 show cars at the Detroit, Chicago, and Cleveland auto shows."

Uh huh...so it doesn't look annnnnyyyyyythiinnng like this one then, huh? Which, BTW, came from the ford.com website...on THE CROWN VIC PAGE. Check it out. Same bloody design, just one in. more added to the diameter, and that is a stupidly simple change to make on the production line when building the damn things.

Try not to insult my intelligence, if you can possibly help it.

Im not insulting your intelligence! Maybe I misread the your post, but it sounded like you thought I was refering to that "fanblade" rim as the Marauder rim. This is what I was addressing "I just went to the website shown in the pictures...those aren't MM wheels! But they are the-equally-good-looking CV LX Sport wheels..." I know its not a MM wheel, it does resemble the Sport rim, never said it didnt, but it isnt the rim. No need to get all bent over it. what ever rim it is, it looks like crap and I cant believe they would put it on a Mustang, personally I like the polished 18 in bullit rims for the GT.

I like the 18 bullit rims for the GT also, I would consider putting them on my Marauder when their available :)
