I got my 305/45/18 Nitto 555R drag radials and 18x9.5" 45mm offset Konig Beyond wheels via UPS Wednesday and put them on for giggles... click the links to pics below for the big pictures:

As you can see, the tires just barely squeeze into the wheel wells. Eyeballing my tape measure tells me I've got about 2" of suspension travel before things get ugly between the fender lip and outside sidewall. There is a good 3/4" of clearance between the shocks and the inside tire sidewall.
I've driven on these for 3 days now with no issues, I'm just being as cautious as I have always been when going over bumps. I really just meant to pick these up for "occasional use" but besides the fact with I've fallen in lust with the traction the Nittos provide, the Konigs are really starting to grow on me and are also available in 18x8.5" 45mm offset for the front. But I need to make sure I can keep the rears on as sunny-day drivers before I commit.
I've crawled under the car and looked at the bump stops... more detail than I'll go into, but there appears only to be an inch or so before contact between the stop and the frame and its obvious that they've met often. I may mess with my ride height sensor to allow more clearance and monitor the situation for awhile.
And yes, I know I have to clean her up. Some yahoo has been bulldozing dirt around across from our parking lot at work and is making quite a mess of it.
