I got my 305/45/18 Nitto 555R drag radials and 18x9.5" 45mm offset Konig Beyond wheels via UPS Wednesday and put them on for giggles... click the links to pics below for the big pictures:

As you can see, the tires just barely squeeze into the wheel wells. Eyeballing my tape measure tells me I've got about 2" of suspension travel before things get ugly between the fender lip and outside sidewall. There is a good 3/4" of clearance between the shocks and the inside tire sidewall.

I've driven on these for 3 days now with no issues, I'm just being as cautious as I have always been when going over bumps. I really just meant to pick these up for "occasional use" but besides the fact with I've fallen in lust with the traction the Nittos provide, the Konigs are really starting to grow on me and are also available in 18x8.5" 45mm offset for the front. But I need to make sure I can keep the rears on as sunny-day drivers before I commit.

I've crawled under the car and looked at the bump stops... more detail than I'll go into, but there appears only to be an inch or so before contact between the stop and the frame and its obvious that they've met often. I may mess with my ride height sensor to allow more clearance and monitor the situation for awhile.

And yes, I know I have to clean her up. Some yahoo has been bulldozing dirt around across from our parking lot at work and is making quite a mess of it.

WOW !!!

Those really fill the fender nicely !

If you're really worried about fender rash,
you can always adjust the air suspension
and give it another inch of room.

Looks like 305s on an 18x10 with 40mm offset would be fine from the looks department. That would stick out 3/4" more is all. Pushing it maybe, but definitely conservative by street crowd standards.

Very, whats the diameter of that rear tire?

I'd bet 28 3/4" give or take on that rim.

How much are the Konigs and where did you buy them? Also what is the construciton?

Looks like a good alternative to widening the OEMs.

Trying not to break any vendor rules here, but since Tire Rack doesn't sell Nittos so I had to go elsewhere.

I got the Konigs through Discount Tire Direct with the Nittos. I picked them as a relatively cheap set of wheels for the drag radials. With the free mounting, balancing and shipping I figured I was getting a better deal by buying a wheel + tire package. For whatever its worth, I also had them heat cycle the Nittos.

BTW, if you call their #800 you'll get all the same deals and your stuff will be reserved right then and your order confirmed. I just used their site to browse around.

Very, whats the diameter of that rear tire?I have those same tires also. The outer diameter is 28.78" as compared to our factory stock ones of 28.5", so they're very close to the stock height.

BTW HWYCRUISER, those are "cheap" wheels you say? I think they look great!!! I don't see why you should have any contact of those tires while using the different wheel offset, with anything but maybe the fender lips themselves, since those tires are only .3" taller than the stock ones are. Yes, they're a lot wider, but I've never seen any signs of the treads themselves making contact with anything on my Marauder. Unless you have lowered the suspension height ofcourse. I've left the suspension on my Marauder at the factory height.

I always get my Nito drag radials from www.Discounttiredirect.com (http://www.Discounttiredirect.com) too,and I also pay the $15 extra per tire to have them "Heat cycled". I called the Nitto tire company to make sure that this heat cycling thing is something that they also recommend, and they said that they do recommend it for their drag radial tires (the "NT555R").

I agree that the Konigs look pretty good. I guess I should have said relatively inexpensive, since you can drop several hundred dollars on just a wheel. The drag radials are going to be for track use and will probably be passed around a few times and generally get abused. I'm probably going to get the OEM wheels widened and run the 295/45 Nitto 555 street radials for daily driving when I've burned off the remaining tread on my OEM tires.

I haven't adjusted the ride height but it definately sits a little low in the back. I may take it up a bit just to get better symmetry around the tire. If you've ever looked at the axle housing bump stop, I've only got about an inch of travel before it contacts the frame. That just seems to close to me and may explain why I've always thought my Marauder rode a little rough.

As far as going with something less than a 45mm offset, especially on a 10" wide wheel, I'd say you'd definately need to raise the ride height to a "drag racing" stance to make sure that the fender doesn't contact the tread. Major bummer if that happened.
