Jerry, Mike and myself got into Joliet Ill. last night. After a night of good food and talk we left for one of the best tracks in the nation this morning. There was a major line of fast Fords there so registration took quite a while. By the time we got settled we were only able to make a few runs.

With me driving the Trilogy supercharged F-150 I piloted it to it's new best time of 14.85 at 91.05 mph  . Not to bad for a 5400 pd truck. Jerry was very happy with that. The announser even said a "14.85 from what appears to be stock F-150." I ran against one of those Boss 5.4 F-150's. It only ran 16.03. They were quite taken by Jerry's newest creation.

Anyway, while I was at the wheel of the F-150, Mike was gearing up for what was going to be another great run by the Trilogy 1 car. His first run in the number 1 car was an 11.35 :bows: . I am not sure what his mph was. Also he got to run again for an 11.5 run. Needless to say he was excited and Jerry was jumping up and down. Tommorrow we will try to take on Jerry's magic 11.29 ;) .

BTW, we had the only Marauder there. After the run people were all over the car asking questions and congradulating us on the fine pieces of equipment. More will follow tommorrow as well as pictures later.

What a fricken rocket!!! Driving number 1 is an absolutely breathtaking experience. The first 200 hundred feet is simply awesome. That first run was the best with a 1.62 sixty foot for an 11.35 @ 120.5....and that was in the 4:30 late afternoon heat!!

I debated in my head how I wanted to launch the car. With that kind of power on tap there was more to the strategy than just sticking it to the floor at the light. Knowing the NOS comes on only at WOT I contemplated walking her out for the first 50 feet before nailing it. Or perhaps doing a smooth roll into wot over a 1-2 second time span.

Anyway, Jerry said "what the hell just nail it" so I did. After a crappy burnout and not getting myself into the "groove" on the starting line like I wanted, I expected trouble. But, the track was well prepped and she just hooked. I smashed the go pedal on the last yellow and the car just shot forward. I've never had to grip the wheel so tight before and as that thing took off all I could think to myself was Holy Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! After only 200 feet of that, I knew I had run one helluva time.

Simply awesome. I'll be ordering up a NOS kit asap :D LOL...when Lidio stopped by in the pits the first thing out of his mouth was..."I know, I know....I already have a kit waiting for you :D

Going back out there this morning for some cooler air. Eliminations start at 10am for our group, so i'm hoping for another good pass. Being only 6 hunedredths off Jerry's record, I'm hoping to pad his record.

We'll keep you posted!

My guess is that you are doing so well because of the Trilogy jackets! Mine will be here soon enough.

Great numbers. I like the repeatability. The nitrous will help you beat the heat.

Hey Folks,

I just got back home. I have a wedding to attend today, so I had to leave early, darn!!!!!!! Anyway, I can't tell you folks how much fun it has been going to Joliet. What a fantastic track and so close to Chicago. What a great town!!!!

Brad stopped by yesterday to share some experiences with his new supercharger. He looks like a kid at Christmas. I think he is going to have to have that smile surgically removed! Brad brought some of the other Chicago Marauder guys and his son. We had a fantastic dinner last night, some good drinks and lot-o-laughs!! Life doesn't get any better!!!

I feel like this is a warm up for MaraudeVille III. Mike, Darryl and myself were standing out side of the vehicles yesterday during registration at the track, early in the morning. Sun was coming up, the sky was blue, there was a light cool breeze!!! WOW, does it get any better we all said to on another?

It was great having Darryl, Mike, Lidio, Jake, Brad and company. But we missed Dave, Paul, Mike A., John(2), and the others. Next time we have to all do this together.

The car and the truck are running great. Darryl just called and said the truck ran a new best time of 14.78. I am sure Mike will brake my record this weekend. I wish both of them the best of luck. They look like they are really having fun. I hated to come home, but family is important!

I can't say enough about the Joliet track. If you haven't been there please go the next chance you get, it is awesome.

Well, got to go get my Tux on.

See Y'all later!

Jerry

Not so loud, Tech Inspection might hear you. The rules say it should have a roll bar below 11.50, but come on it's a 4 door land barge!

They told me I need a bypass valve for the Nitrous, heavier support for the battery holder, a cut off switch on the back of the car, a drive shaft brace, etc. More mods are needed before we can return.

What color parachute should I get(smile)??

See Ya!

Darryl, Mike, with the title of this thread "Trilogy Invades Joliet", the question remains....Have you encountered any resistance to your invasion? Sounds like Trilogy #1 is rolling right thru unchallanged....mmmmmm

LOL...we haven't seen hide nor hair of zack, Mac, or anyone else who wanted to run. We have been the sole Marauder running on the track for the last 2 days. Brad just finished his kit install and is working out the bugs so its understandable he won't be running yet. But, as far as any other chicago based heavy hitters...well...its been a No Show.

That said, rumor has it (based on some verbage in another thread) that zack or mac might stop by tomorrow. I'm not sure what its worth at that point. Test and tune and qualifying is over. So, unless you run simple brackets or something, its worthless showing up so late. Not to mention the temps are expected to hit the mid 90s as well with 95% humidity. Slim and I will make our final passes tomorrow morning and be on the road by noon for our 5 hour drive back home.

I'm a little disappointed the competition did't show up. But, oh well. I guess I'm not surprised. It was still a blast!! Route 66 is an AWESOME track!!

BTW, an update.

Temps were up over yesterday as was the humdity. Today's two runs were 11.45 and an 11.39. Traps speeds were off as well at 119. The qualifying round was late and pushed into the early afternoon (versus the morning) and the weather took its toll.

Tomorrow's eliminations are supposed to start at 10am. We'll see if we can get a cooler weather pass early on in an attempt to improve on Jerry's 11/29. Stay tuned :)

Why? Like Mike said, its just the bracket racing on Sunday. Might be a good day to enter a Marauder in the car show, while the Trilogy car makes her runs. I heard they would be there from the start, guess you cant believe everything you hear. Doesnt matter, at least a good time was had by all that did show up! Sorry I missed it.

I thought you were "Tired of the Marauder scene" :dunno:

Thanks to my fellow Marauderers help, I realized that it wasnt the Marauder scene I was tired of, rather certain individuals with-in the Marauder scene that I had enough of. Having one of the quickest Marauders out there has a way of cementing your love of the Black Beast! Thats why I appreciate the crew here in Michigan more than I will ever be able to put in words, they are a great bunch of True Friends, as well as Marauder fanatics like I am! Kinda puts the Marauder Scene in a different light, and thats the only Marauder Scene im worried about...
So you can rest at night knowing I am as Hardcore as ever!

First let start by saying "Thank You" to the Chicago guys that have come out to cheer us on. Bradley, 03Marauder and today SVT-GUY stopped by. Big Joe P, I wish I had seen your post earlier. I am sure Mike and myself would have loved being your guest. Anytime you are in the Detroit area let me know. BTW, I did run a new "fastest time" for the F-150. It was a 14.72  . I am falling in love with this truck. It runs good and looks "PIMPIN". People just stop to look at the wheels on it. We are getting a lot of attention with the Marauder. Most are running Mustangs and love seeing a big luxo-boat running consistant low to mid 11's. Every Mustang Mike has lined up next to he has beaten. My thanks to my close friend Jerry Barnes for trusting Mike and I with his babies. I will follow up more tommorrow with hopefully new record breaking times.

I's also like to echo Slim's appreciation to Brad, 03Marauder, SVT-Guy, and the others who stopped by to say hello, chat for while, and take in the racing. It was a real pleasure to meet more Chicago based Marauder brethren. Its amazing that a car and hobby can bring so many folks together for good times and fond memories. Without a doubt, I enjoy "the people" more than I do the racing or even the car itself.

And, I must say, you boys in Chicagoland are simply blessed to have such a wonder drag racing facility like Route 66 in your backyard. Its simply the best track I've been to. I hope to get back here again to see you guys and enjoy the track as well as your company.

We'll post some final updates tonight after our final run and trek home!

Man, I hate this *****. But, I simply cannot let this one slide.

Mac, re-read the post? I can't see where Mike said you were coming out to race him or anyone else. You said in another thread, "See you in Joliet". You must have one hell of a set of binoculars, because from where I sit you were nowhere to be found.

The same thing happened here in Florida, not too long ago. We had a guy who always ran his mouth and took cheap shots at Trilogy every chance he could. When Trilogy1 rolled into town, he was MIA. I knew the "reasons" why this happened [note: a reason can also be interpreted as a chicken-***** excuse], and was quite amused by it, and said so.

Now Mac, we have never met. But we've talked on the phone about our disagrements, and have always come to a respectful conclusion. And, you may not belive this, but I defended you and Zack. I said, "no way are they gonna let this opportunity slide. It's their backyard-they'll be in Joliet and it'll be a hell of time!" Now this? You are "working"? I won't pretend to understand your work situation. But, Mike and Darryl somehow found a way to be there. I think you could've too. I may be wrong and frequently am.

Then you proceed to attack an entire company, its customers, and MVIII? This honestly does break my heart, but from where I sit, you are coming across as little more than a coward hiding behind a keyboard and an internet site.

This honestly does break my heart, but from where I sit, you are coming across as little more than a coward hiding behind a keyboard and an internet site.No problem, Chuck, but you're being short sighted. Nothing for me to re-read, it's spelled out in post #24, which I quoted correctly. There are two other threads you need to refresh yourself with, the announcement of "#1 is coming to town" and "400 HP on the dyno" or something like that. There's more BS there too.

Briefly, I am a sergeant by physical rank, and a commander by responsibility. I have 165-170 employees on duty every tour. At the present time, (and up until I begin my furlough 12 September), my ability to break away from my office is limited. Three of my watch commander/sergeants are on vacation, leaving me three to cover a 24/7 schedule. To import another commander to cover my responsibility is expensive, and requires approval from the chain of command, so, getting a day off is possible, but difficult. This has been explained in the past when people ask me why I'm not planning to go to MV-III, because I can't plan. It was the same situation last year for MV-II, and at the last minute I could not attend. If it was six months away from my vacation, I could negotiate a change, but not three weeks.

As it applies here in this situation, Zack and I planned to attend this car show long before the announcement of a visit from Jerry Barnes. Tickets were purchased in advance and I negotiated a switch of days off that would allow me to attend the car show on Sunday, a switch that fell through when the sergeant fell ill last Wednesday. So, here I sit, until 2 PM.

Since the announcement and arrival of the Trilogy crew, there have been a lot of snotty remarks across three threads, including untrue statements. Post #24 ^ there is the "straw".

I do not race against other Marauder owners and this has been posted here before. Neither Zack nor I stated any challenges to anyone regarding racing. Our cars are prepped for the show and shine, and I never promised, or, challenged anyone to a race. So, why must I endure all this crap? First Lidio, then Jerry Barnes, then Darryl, then Dave, and now Mike. Tired of it, dude, you need to read up?

Yikes! I'm sorry to see you coming un-glued here Mac. Its not pretty.

No one ever said you were "coming out to race me." Dave asked if any of the local competition showed up and I said no.

"Liar." Hmmm, so you've been reduced to simple name calling. How nice. But let's just see how unfactual that dreaded "post #24" is shall we?

Let's see:

The event was in your "backyard"....that's true.
You eluded to coming to the event in past threads...that's true.
I had not seen you or zack...that's true.
You and zack did not show up....that's true.
I was not surprised....that's true too.

Well golly gee wiz there Mac, where's the lie?

If you only planned on coming to the car show, you should have said so in the first place. Its no big deal.

You need some thicker skin.

Who told you I was coming out to race you? I'm at work, dude, and I don't race against other Marauders, you know that. Man-oh-man, I just hate liars, who said this? Now you're trying to make me out a pus*y for not racing you.

You don't stop using people, do you, there's no end. And once you have taken your swing, you pass the bat to the next dude in line like gang bangers. Y'all are low, everyone can read it, and few will forget it.

I mentioned stopping out after work on Friday or Saturday, to have a few cold ones with y'all, but that was before all the BS with Lidio, Jerry Barnes, and some hateful e-mail from Darryl. Again, I hate liars, and after all that crap, I said ****it, goodwill ain't happening. Now it will never happen I give you my word on that. Y'all use anyone you can, anyway you can, to get what you want, and that's sad.
I sent you hateful e-mail? You sent me and HackGoby an e-mail saying that you were disappointed in me for taking sides. I never took sides. I asked one question of you. It was, "I didn't understand how you were having so much problem hooking up with your power when there are others with more power that can hook-up". You never answered me and then sent me the e-mail. You said that was no better than my MCM brothers. You also stated that you felt that you could patch things up with Paul (Hack) because you had met him but felt that you could not do the same for me because we hadn't met. The fact is, which I stated in the e-mail I sent to you was that in fact we did meet. We met at the first Trilogy Open House. I tried my best to ask you about the Kenny Brown car because at the time it was the only other choice. You never answered me and never even looked my way. You "snobed" me the whole time. I have never said anything about that or the fact that your car stalled in the parking lot ("Oops", did I say that) beacuse it never meant much to me. I wrote it off as a bad tune. You have a way of acting like you really care about a person but really you send nasty e-mails that no one else can read. I have the copy of the e-mail here for all to see. You cannot deny it now. Everyone here knows that I am not the type of person to stoop to your level but you have made me so mad with your lying. Come forward with the truth and try to regain the little dignity you still may have. Ask the other guys if they have problem with me. I would say 99 percent would say no. Tell you what, lets start a poll and see who garners more respect, you or me. By the way, I am no better than my MCM bothers. I am the same as them. One that loves this car and enjoys the good time of others that do the same. I am so glad to have met others from your area including Big Joe P, Brad, Mark, Steven, Chris and SVT-GUY. They are what your city is all about. Soon other will see what the MCM crew is all about and have a good time. Too bad you can't come off your high horse and party with the rest of us. Oh, well your loss.

Wow! Has this thread really blown apart, or what? I can see how that happens though, and unfortunately I've been involved with some threads that have done that too. I don't know if this will work, but I'm going to make an effort to be a peacemaker here, and hopefully that's still posible after all that's been said.

First let me say that I am in no way wanting to take sides here. I've been in debates with people from both sides of this apparent argument, and I haven't neccessarily any more loyalty to one side nor the other. Now as far as the cars and supercharger kits represented here in this thread, I think that the Trilogy kit is the best one out there, but that's my veiwpoint, and everyone is free to make their own decision about that.

But this seems to be about some more underlying issues than just that anyway. I won't even try to unravel that, since it just isn't worth it. On one hand I don't understand MAC taking shots at a vendor like Jerry Barnes. Jerry is a top notch guy, and one who has always displayed the utmost professionalism on this board.

However, in all fairness to MAC and Zack, I don't think that the Trilogy #1 car would be a fair match-up against any other supercharged Marauders with the two exceptions being Marty's car and Lidio's car since they're the only other ones that also have Nitrous oxide injection in addition to being supercharged just as the Trilogy #1 car has. I don't think that Marty's car is ready for any intense racing yet. And since MAC's and Zack's cars only have the one power adder, then I don't think that either one of their cars against Trilogy #1 car would be a fair race in a heads-up competition.

However, I will also add that I'm a bit surprised that MAC became so heated about this. I sure hope that my input here won't serve to fuel the fire even more, because that really isn't my intention. But I've tried to offer a well balanced view of what's happened here. So for what it's worth, there ya go.

Just for the record here, when it comes to the level of Jerry's, Lidio's, Zack's, Mac's or my car (and I think a few others that I may be forgetting or that may soon be on the scene - I have heard rumors about one or more cars being built South of the Mason Dixon line), I think all is fair in love and drag racing.

For instance, would I love to see Jerry, Lidio and Zack weighted down with a cage? Absolutely! But if they can get by without one, well, then I will just call them lucky bastards. On the other hand, I know that Mike saw one really nasty wreck this weekend and full frame car or not, I am glad I have my cage. It was item one on my build list. This is a hobby and, at the moment, I can only afford to die in teh Court room and not on teh track.

Now, another thing, I have not yet sprayed my car, except once on the dyno once and we didn't have the bottle warm and got like a 25 shot out of it. The bar has been raised a bunch of notches as of late and the season is in full swing. So, this weekend is FFW Bristol and we are going out set on kill. We will see what we can do, but I am keeping my expectations in reserve due to a lot of untested changes and a high altitude track. On the other hand, I hope I put a beating on the Mike/Jerry times! :D

I remain in awe of the times gotten out of Jerry's car. And, let me say this publicly: I am jealous!

One last thing, what Jerry has accomplished is nothing short of amazing. And, what Zack and a few others have accomplished has to be respected. Zack and I may not be in love with each other, but I respect what he has gotten out of his car. I hope to displace him (and Jerry's car) from their places on the timeslip list the weekend. Either that, or I will eat myself into a coma this weekend while I am in Bristol. In any event, I plan on having a great time.

Remember, no one said anything about racing #1 against anyone specific in a heads up race. Never. Furthermore, unless Mac, Zack, or anyone else made some significant unannounced modifications to thier car as of late, I wouldn't have expected anyone to try to "beat" #1 at Route 66 anyway.

The point that was being made by the infamous "post #24" was that there was an event where some folks who lived near by said they'd be there but, in the end, they were not. Whether is was to run some passes or just shoot the breeze it didn't matter. If passes were made by "the competitiion" it wouldn't be about "beating #1", it would simply be about putting up some respectable numbers. Coming by to shoot the breeze would have been just as cool as well.

Its about showing face. Showing up. Taking part in the action. Nothing more. You don't have to beat #1's numbers to earn respect. In fact, there are a lot of cars out there that are not as fast as #1 (yet) that have my deepest respect.

Billy, it was also said by one person, I won't mention a name, that if someone wants to donate a NOS system to him he would go after the number 1 car. I know for a fact that someone indeed offered up their NOS but the person in question never accepted. I have always been a person that feels like if a person wants to talk the talk then they should walk the walk.

I am between a rock and a hard place here. Do I respond to the taunts and misinformation? Or, ignore that and move on. Hmmm...Not an easy choice. Taunts I can live with, misinformation disturbs me.

Mike...You are a wordsmith of the master class, I learned that watching you apply your skill against Dutroll over copy machines and scanners in the Timeslip database thread. You are quite accomplished at expressing your message without saying a word. I am learning much from you.

Slim...If you want a poll, go for it.

Board administrators know exactly what our e-mail exchanges contained, what was said by both of us, and what you left out ^ there. Don't worry though, the e-mail means only one thing to me as proof that I made an attempt to find peace without disrupting the board, which is often requested from the sidelines when things like this take place. So, I tried to work it out quietly, sadly I could not. But, I learned stuff, and learning is good.

If anyone can donate a nitrous kit very soon, I will have the car tuned and ready to race by the Chicagoland event. Stock motor and all.

And here is the one and only offer:

Hey Zack!,Please don't take any offence by my comments in the #1 thread!I have tremendous respect, for you abilities to wrench and tune.Your accomplishments speak volumes!I do have a Zex wet Nos Kit, I decieded not to install.I traded a member, Klmore, for Marauder wheels. The kit has two tanks, purge kit, bottle heater, and custom control box for all the switches.Ther is supposed to be xtra jets that Dennis Reinhart may still have, I will call him today.Long story, But I have over a thousand dollars in the kit.I would be open to a barter type situation for your services, ie: tuning, wrenching maybe a grill (no George Foreman) I am planning a Dyno day for the Windy city guys! @ DynoPro's, your partisipation would be appreciated.I know it is a hike from Homewood but let me know.Regards,Bradley G. First, the contents of Post #25 in that thread, please verify it for accuracy.

If anyone can donate a nitrous kit very soon, I will have the car tuned and ready to race by the Chicagoland event. Stock motor and all.I don't see "going after the number #1 car", must be in another post. However, after Zack posted his offer, BradleyG contacted Zack and offered to trade his nitrous kit to Zack, in exchange for a PI Stallion torque converter, including installation.

Last price I heard for a Stallion was 750 bucks, and the install is worth maybe 250 bucks, maybe more. That's a pretty expensive nitrous kit, eh? Not the donation asked for, and not a trade any reasonable person would consider.

It's easy to say what you said ^ there, Slim, and it's just as easy to tell the truth.

May not be as dramatic, or, sensational, but it's best.

I have both a Nos Kit and a Pi converter.
I offered the Zex kit to Zack, as a partial trade for his services, to help install the converter.
Since I have installed the Trilogy kit, I am rethinking the need for the converter.
Niether #1 or Lidios cars have a converter, and so far Lidio, has been the guy who's preferences in mods and tuning are most similar to mine!
