I was driving through stony island in chicago and traffic is about 40 mph when I see a corvette pass me by and swerve to my left. I aggressively show him I mean business too and we both stop at a light. Soon as it turns green and I got around traffic I took off like the way the chase starts in Bullett. There were swerves and I even got the car airborne around a corner! The vette never passed but was trying because we were both doing about 90 in a 35. Next light I took it easy but the vette took off. When he took off i let him go for a second then I took off and met up with him at the next light. he had a badge on his licence plate so he was an off duty cop. When I pulled up next to him I said "I didn't think I could keep up with a vette, let alone a ZO6!" He was like "I've been meaning to get a sedan like your marauder." It was cool and he mentioned how he ran 12.80's and was looking for a Marauder. He mentioned getting a new zo6 with 500 hp. I said it was 505 and he pointed and smiled. "Thats right you do know what your talking about." So I mentioned to get an 03 and not 04 because we all know how they got a little cheap except for the tranny. Well thats my story for the day. :banana2:

Wow he must have not been a very good driver if he could run 12s against a NA Rauder :) Nice. I always appreciate that kind of kill. Not totally obvious but....HE KNEW!

Just because he had a shield on his plate doesn't mean that he was a cop. I have one on my plate, simply because until just two months ago, I had family on the force. Cops often hand out those shields to their family members. ;)
As far as that Vette, he could've made your car look slow if he wanted too, and if there was enough room to do so, and the traffic was either very sparse, or non-existent. If there was traffic, then he either didn't have the room to open it up, or he felt that it was too dangerous to go full throttle. I just ran an 03 Vette with my S/Ced Marauder the other week(no "swerving" and plenty of flat open road which was void of any traffic), and although I beat him, I had to call on all the HP under the hood to do so. Not to burst your bubble, but those LS1 & LS6 engine Vettes are no slouches, and are a lot faster than an N/A Marauder on pump gas.:)

Yeah i ran one before and beat it.It's priceless to see the look on there face when a big car can beat a 45k(or whatever the cost) sports car..Good story:up:
