I like the Headlights, I wonder if it would be possible to do a conversion after these models hit the showroom and parts are available

It looks like the '06s have switched to the CV shaped lights. To do the swap, a new header panel will probably be needed, plus the new grille. Although the cornerlights look like they haven't changed shape.

Looks like they deleted that horrible radio antennae that was on the 05.

Hmmm...So I buy an '06, rent an industrial garage, park it next to my '03 MM and hire Zack to wrench all the body, interior and powertrain components, and poof! At 2006 Kenny Brown Marauder S...Ya think?

We drive Marauders...why care about GM's. They got it right 11,000 times. Nothing else matters.

Mac,
The only Blackhawk I can think of was a "prototype" ( and I use that loosely) performance CV a few years back. Something akin to what our Marauders are.
Now... the '06 GM looks like a modern interpretation of the '90ish TC. But that's just me. BTW I did see one floating around Dearborn Proving Grounds 2 weeks ago, not too bad in person. Just not a Marauder.

The '06 Marquis looks beautiful to me. I hope they don't mess things up with the exterior re-work they're doing for '07 or '08 or whenever it is.

When I saw the picture, I thought: "yeh, ...so?"
That one's nothing more than a Crown Vic with hocky stick badges.
BigHouse got it right, nothing there to interest me. :dunno:

Possibly using the Marauder front facia. That would be a plus for us.

What FoMoCo vehicle lately has been exciting (save the GT and maybe the 05 Mustang)? Ford has such uninspiring vehicles. I never could have imagined a vehicle could look as boring as the Five Hundred/Montego. But, I guess Ford proved me wrong. The interiors are nice. But, who will walk up to a vehicle to look at the interior if the exterior is so bland.

I never could have imagined a vehicle could look as boring as the Five Hundred/Montego. I dunno. Yeah, the 500 isn't all that exciting a design, but it's not altogether unhandsome to my eye, in a
VW Passat sort of way. Anyways, I'd much rather have the "boring" 500 design than some of what's been
happening to cars like BMW and Audi. Even the new Mercedes S class has a rump that looks like it was cribbed
from Hyundai. A Subaru Tribeca may not be boring, but I'd hardly accuse it of being a desirable design. Besides,
it doesn't seem like boring design has been much of a liability for Camry and Accord, has it?
For me, the biggest reason you'll never find a 500 in my garage is it's bad joke of a powertrain. And given Ford's
recent reputation with all-new model launches, there's no way I'd ever touch that CVT without a 100K mile warranty.
As for the '05 Mustang, few new cars have pegged my car lust meter this much since, well, the '03 Marauder... :-)

It's not really my kind of car, but I think the Fusion that's coming out in '06 (?) looks pretty nice. If I was into smallish FWD cars without much engine I'd definitely consider it on looks.

What's a "Blackhawk"?
The Blackhawk was the Model of the Crown Vic shown at the 1999 Autoshow.
It was the front runner for the Marauder.
Many of its options made their way into the Crown Vic Sport.
Everything else went into the Mercury Division and made the Marauder...
The only thing they left out, Trilogy puts in...

I think someone at Ford needs to wake up, before both Chevy and Dodge leaves them behind for good. It's time for a change, retro is in. Why don't they bring back the Galaxie and Park Lane, base them off the 427 or 49 concept. Bring back an all alluminum 427FE and see what happens to their sells.
Warpath

The Fusion is based on the 429 concept. There are similarities. Headlights and grille come to mind.
IMO, retro is a cop out. Why design something that already exists? Come up with something new. I was disappointed by the 05 Mustang. To me, retro styling is just another example of the continued decay of creativity and individuality in this country. Same thing goes for all the movie remakes that are out (Dukes, Starsky & Hutch, all the Japanese movie knock offs, all the British TV show knock offs, reality TV, etc.). It seems as thought no one can come up with an original thought anymore. OK, sorry to rant. Off my soap box now.

You would have been happy if the 'Probe' or the car that became the 'new Cougar' had actually been the new Mustang?
The '05 Mustang has 'retro' styling cues sure. That's actually what makes it recogniseable as a Mustang. I wouldn't call the '05 Mustang a simple recreation of the original, at all. It's the first Mustang that has intersted me in decades, and not just by it's looks.

Ford needs to retain it's RWD lines, yes. It does need some FWD offerings to be competitive, and the 500 and Focus do fill that nicely.
GM is in such bad shape, I don't see them leaving any one behind for good.
Daimler has brought back RWD passenger car offerings, but that's Daimler's influence and doing, not 'Chrysler'. The Chrysler/Dodges from Daimler need big styling help, at least they should send the grille designer back to Dodge truck group.
Where is the 'retro' at Daimler, other than in use of names?

IMO, retro is a cop out. Why design something that already exists? Come up with something new. I was disappointed by the 05 Mustang. Well, cop out or no, I say if the 4th Gen Camaro had looked more like the '69, that nameplate would still be alive today.
(Well that, and also if it hadn't become such an ergonomic and packaging nighmare...) Sometimes the designers need
to be reminded that you don't just throw away a car's heritage in the name of fresh design. Maybe I'm just getting old,
but it sure seems to me that the past few years we've seen an awful lot of ugly cars produced. As I look across the
automotive landscape, I can't help but wish that a few of these designers would run outta ideas...

Ford really needs help in the styling dept. The only truly striking cars in their lineup are the Mustang and the GT, and they are just (well-done) updated copies of 30-40 year-old designs. Retro is cool, but at some point you have to come up with something new to push the envelope foreward. Chrysler has done that, Ford hasn't.

Too bad it's also lacking in the powertrain department.
And, of course, Ford also does the Aston Martin DB9, probably the most gorgeous car on the planet.
As for Chrysler, Unless you're a fan of Dodge trucks, which I'm not, what do they have to offer?
(I also think the current 300 is, shall we say, best viewed from behind...)

Agreed. To me, retro is lack of effort or talent. Even I could come up with a cool looking retro. OEs are doing it now, IMO, because it is a sure sell. They don't want to take the chance on a new design. The market is too competetive for that. I'm not saying a car line should lose its heritage. They can remain and still have a new design. If you look at the 96-04 Mustang, styling cues such as the triple veritical tail lights remain. "Retro" design to me is the same as calling a used car "preowned." Just fancy wording to remove emphasis of what it actually is.
BTW, the Chrysler 300 isn't exactly new either. Its a copy of a Rolls.
