already did speaker swap and am very happy with the results. now thinking of replacing the OEM headunit. i believe a new headunit (pioneer, kenwood or alpine) would give better bass and treble control as well as more power without adding an external amp. believe it or not, www.crutchfield.com has a really good deal. the kenwood excelon kdc-759 is on sale from $449 to $299 and you will receive the kenwood sirius receiver ($159) FREE whith your purchase. sirius antenna is still needed for $49 and all shipping is free this week on orders over $299. THIS REALLY HAS ME THINKING. would like to hear feedback from NE1 that replace the OEM radio on POWER output and sound quality or NE1 with sirius/xm radio?

In another thread here about gauges, there are hot keys to AutoMeter and egauges. At egauges, you'll find a 3 meter housing that fits in the radio DIN panel, and that's a neat option for you guys who want to change out your radios. If you want a radio upgrade that won't use the entire DIN space, it would be a perfect (and logical) place to park 3 more gauges of choice. May even open up your choices for radios too. Hot keys are imbedded in the text of the opening post, happy motoring!

I have a new Pioneer head (Pioneer DEH-P6500) and seperate EQ unit(Pioneer DEQ-7600). Watch out for any unit that has that EL display. Every 30 or so seconds it switches between a black on white to a white on black version of the selected display option. This prevents burn-in. It is very distracting at night.

Otherwise the units sound great.

Check the pics in the Tech Gallery with my name on them to see the new dash and trunk stuff.
