Thinking of buying the GTech Pro SS performance meter. Any reviews from current owners? Is it really that accurate for all of the performance readouts? Looking for a website that sells it cheaper then $199.99?? Any help on a better price?
Thanks,
Glenn :burnout:

Glenn :burnout:Not for HP reading it isn't. There are simply too many variables for power levels of engines to be determined by acceleration characteristics alone (gear ratio, and transmission for instance).
I've found the G-tech device to be within one tenth of a second of my track ET's as long as my car was in the 13, 14, and 15 second brackets. It's also very repeatable which makes it an excellent tool for measuring acceleration increase results that have been obtained from various modifications.
the problem is that once your car gets into the 12 second bracket at the track (or is capable of it) your G-meter numbers begin to vary considerbly from what your drag strip numbers will be. But that isn't because the G-meter device isn't accurate. It's simply because of the fact that once your engine begins producing enough low-end torque to spin the tires from a dead punch on the street, then you'll never be able to accelerate from a dead stop on the street as you'll be able to do on the dragstrip due to all the VHT traction compound that they use at the dragstrip. So your times at the dragstrip will therefore always be better than on the street as soon as your car gets to a certain peformence level (maybe even by the time some cars are in the 13 second bracket).

For the money I would go with the RR. http://www.gtechpro.com/rr.html It's only $100.00 more.
The computer features are what makes it so nice.
