That is prolly a mocked up 01 or 02 CV or CVPI. If that is true, these rims will not fit our cars.

This was a concept before we got what we got. It came outta Auto Weekly, when it was a bi monthly publication, magazine about 6 years ago. I've had this pic ever since.

This is an old...old...old...ad.

There is a thread somewhere around here discussing this very picture and the differences between this pre proto picture and what finally came off the assembly line. Sometime between 2/03 and 7/03.

Nice flashback however.

Barry: Aren't they all "nice flashbacks" though? Well, okay, that one with the spiders is a little spooky...Oh wait that's a different type of flash back. Never mind....

I haven't but I really like the way those wheels look.

When I was doing research before getting mine, I saw this ad. What we're looking at is an ersatz Marauder; this was the concept test mule.

It makes me kinda sad actually; I like those wheels but they're more than likely long gone, destroyed along with the rest of the car. Ford---well, all the other carmakers too, actually---doesn't really have a sense of historical preservation. The vehicle pictured is the "missing link" in the Marauder's evolution and ought to have been saved as such. I personally like the placement of the name callout on the rear bumper too...but to each his own. I'm sure other folks don't like it.

Test mules are just that: testbed vehicles whose sole purpose is to determine the physical feasibility of the paper concept. They tend to get used and abused hard; consequently, when the engineers are done with 'em, 9 times out of 10 they end up in the crusher. I have seen a few example of some of the Mopar concept cars from the late '60s/early '70s that were saved/rescued/whatever and restored to better-than-original state, but those are more the exception than the rule.

Sorry to rave...it just bothers me...carry on.

Here's a close up of the wheel and a clearer pic of the car.

Closest I could find:http://www.americanracing.com/dealerline/blackimages/mega/m699.jpg

Don't seem to have our backspacing. :( Unless because they are "dished" that a backspace of 25 might and I use that loosely work
