No, that is the 2006 CVPI. It looks different because it has the new
17' Steel wheels, but thats a Vic. Look at the corner lights... But that
is the "Marauder backround"

Still can't tell what the rims look like in the pic. I guess I'll wait until they start showing up.

I get the sense that this may be somewhere near or on the St. Thomas AP grounds, but then it could be some location in Detroit or near the photo agency.
Still, it's the same locations.

Similarities - recycling & tweaking of brochure photos of different model years is nothing new.
A few such instances from my personal collection of brochures ...
1987-1988 Lincoln Town Car -
Brochure covers are different, but most photos in the rest of the brochures are basically identical for 87-88(SAME backgrounds & car colors). The only diffs being the subtle physical changes between the (2) years & diff wheel options. The Cartier in one has leather - cloth in the other(diff seat fabric pattern 87 vs 88 Cartier anyways).
1981-1982 Oldsmobile Toronado & 1984-1985 Oldsmobile Toronado -
Olds did a similar thing ... using a same color combo Toro in 81 & 82 for one of the Toro pics & then using the same color combo Toro for one of the pics in 84-85. However ... they tried to be a bit more slick about it.
81-82 subtle physical diffs between both years ... but they changed the background scene a bit for these same color Toro pics 81 vs 82. There's a guy in both one of the 81 & 82 photos on the RH side of the car, with one arm/hand on the a-pillar. His appearance & clothing are slightly different ... but it's appears to be the same guy doctored up some. In the 82 photo ... he is holding what appears to be a set of blueprints & in the background he is seen talking with an engineer/contractor going over the prints, standing outside a house. There is NO background in the 81 photo(basically just black) & he is not holding anything ... the one hand on the a-pillar is at a slightly diff height & the other is in his sport jacket.
84-85 again subtle physical diffs between both years ... but again they change the backgrounds 84 vs 85. (2) men on an small airfield with (2) small planes for 84 ....... & for 85 the background was an ocean shot with (1) guy sitting, looking out into the ocean thru binoculars. The wire wheel emblems were pointing perfectly "due north" on the 84 Toro, but someone dropped the ball on the 85, as they were at "10" & "2" o'clock(oops !). The 84 was also a vinyl top delete(rare) while the 85 DID have the vinyl top.
I'd bet it's pretty safe to say, that all these minor diffs were done by computer, & NOT someone starting from scratch to do all NEW photos at Lincoln or Olds at the time. I guess they ALL get LAZY from time to time & rather just "tweak" something they already have.

Negative. We have Dual Overhead Cams (DOHC) while they have Single Overhead Cams (SOHC) not to mention another 53 HP :D

everything about those two pics are identical. It was obviously photoshopped but by Ford.
There is no way the lighting, reflections, exact same spot the MM is parked...they would have no reason to try to immitate the MM pic so closely.

:thinker: I know why they did it. . .ready?. . .:thinker:
because the Marauder is the baddest(Ford/Mercury) car out there :beatnik:
hands down :bows:

I think they photographed the '06 CVPI on a "Green Screen" background, and then stuck it into a STOCK background shot of that warehouse.
That is even easier than a photoshop rework, and much more efficient.
