... and I saw one Saturday at about 1:30 pm. It was a Silver Birch heading east on 526 (Boeing Freeway) and then turned right (south) onto Everett Mall Way. I was in the left lane driving my 95 GM. I believe it was a lady driving. The MM looked and sounded unmodded except it had what looked like some small stuffed animals on the rear window deck. Had to be good for a few horses!

If I am in town, the most I go without a MM siting is a day or two (means I don't go to my garage) :D
Unfortunately my MM is sitting in the garage all dirty. Believe it or not, it has rained so frequently out here I can't get it out and really clean it before I'm dodging a Thunderstorm.

Oh it much worse than just Monsoon....
Friday .... 3:30pm I am headed home. ( I live out in the country .. sort of)
It is raining like MAD ! Soon as I turn onto the road that leads to my street... (Moson Rd) I see that the washes (low point through which water runs during heavy rains) are running hard. So I come up to the first one... and sit 5 car lengths back.. pulled over... trying to judge if my 88 Turbo Coupe can make it through.
I watch pickups and SUVs plow through... and wait... finally a Honda makes his move and gets through it. (The wash is probably 6-8 car lengths wide) So I waddle in... running in the middle of the road... looking for the crown to keep me a bit higher.... and I don't make it. Water must have splashed up high enough .. (I am crawling ... but the current is pretty strong) to hit the turbo and steam gushes everywhere and motor dies. So now I am sitting in a torrential downpour... in a wash... where the conditions can change from unpleasant to life threatening in seconds... and the SUVs continue to plow around me... coming from both directions.
I call the wife at home and say... "BRING THE TRUCK and HURRY!" She has 7 miles to cover.... and can't do it. The washes further down are so bad that debris as large as old refridgerators is washing across the road. Meanwhile I am ****ting Mini Coopers ! Obviously I don't want to lose my car... life... and Arizona has a Stupid Motorist Law for people who get themselves stuck in washes. The fine is SEVERE! Finally, I coax the bird to life and waddle free... sputtering and stumbling... but I get to higher ground... pull over and let the engine run to dry out.
In the mean time the road is shut down ... and proably 30 - 40 cars / trucks etc. are stuck in different areas of the road waiting for the water level to recede in the washes. School buses are even stranded ... sitting on the higher ground waiting.
My wife, bless her heart, manages to get down the road finally, dodging debris just before they closed the road... so she is stuck with me... the truck acting like a guard dog for the Turbo Coupe.
An hour later... we finally decide that we THINK we can make it back into town. No way can we go towards home tho. So we start back to the wash that killed the bird the first trip. The county sherriff is there and says... you are free to try.... but you get stuck you will get charged with Stupid Motorist.
So we wait another 30 minutes. Finally, it looks possible.... no problem for the truck... but dicey for the bird. Wife leads in and I watch the water level against her tires. It is doable... I just need to maintain idle speed or less and I am through. I get through and we go back to town and leave my bird in the garage of a house I am selling.
We go to dinner with plans of picking the bird up after the roads clear. Instead the rains come again and even more severe. Streets everywhere are flooded.... the debris washing down streets in town is unbelievable. Shopping carts go floating past. (plastic carts suck in this weather)
So we leave the bird in town and use an alternate route to try and get home. The truck makes it fine, but the primary road on which I got stuck the first time is closed. We made it home at 7:30pm. I don't know when the road opened. It rained hard most of the night.
Yesterday they had front end loaders clearing debris, mud, etc. off the road. We went to town to retrieve the Turbo Coupe.
Today.. it is pouring outside.... I haven't left the house.

I've owned my 2004 Marauder (DTR) almost 15 months now. In that time, I've only seen 8 Marauders on the street. One Silver Birch, two Dark Toreador Red (one with the OEM rear deck spoiler installed), and five black ones. I've never been able to find or see a Dark Pearl Blue Marauder in person, yet! I have seen many pictures, but no real blue cars (only 328 produced). The Marauder is most definitely very rare on the street. It may be more often seen in some areas. But not where I live, in the Elk Grove Village-Schaumburg, Illinois area.
