I was under the car greasing the Metco's today, and thought I would take a look at the differential to see how to drain and fill it.
I found the fill plug, but have not seen a drain plug. Can someone tell me where to look?

I beleive you have to remove the cover to drain it.

Thanks, I suspected as much, considering how many aftermarket covers have drain holes built in them.

PS: once you see the pizza pan they call a cover that's protecting your valuable rear end you're gonna barf. :depress:

I use a vacuum can like I use in my boat for engine oil changes.....Works great and no worries about the "Shiney Hiney" leaking at the bearing stabilizer bolt holes. Just drive it about 10 miles to heat the oil and the can will get 95% of it out...otherwise remove the rear cover and check the gears while it is off!! :bows:

Marauderjack :DIt still good to remove the cover and inspect the clutches, spider and crown
gear... Check too! ford usually recommends adding a friction modifier for their
Limited slip diffs..someone here should have that info. if needed..haven't done mine yet!
