Whilst cruzing this Sunday evening looking for some fun, I met up with a machine I must call Incredible!

After goofing at the on-ramps to the interstate, I got bored and decided to go home.

That's when a red Viper r/t 10 pulls along side at the second to last of the two stoplites left before entering highway. I compliment the husband wife, and goof with them while approaching the last lite. Dude wants NOTHING to do with me, so I keep harrassing (engine revs, low gears, etc.), and when THIS lite changes, he IS GONE. I did not even to attempt a run after the first 50 ft. It sounded like a jet airplane, and damn well moved like one.

What a rush that must be. VIPER=FAST

CT,

Don't worry about it. That guy will probably get carpel tunnel from having to shift all the time. :P

Vipers are fine if you only intend to drive it on a race track, but I'd rather run my MM through the city streets and still get to enjoy it on the highways. :D

and I'll bet his wife was saying......don't let that guy show you up, get him, at least that is what mine says when some kid in a rice burner tries to think he is impressive......:coolman:

I knew I was asking for trouble......but don't we all remember the bully in high school? One day we just couldn't take it any more. So we clocked him when he wasn't looking, only to get our a$$'s kicked as soon as he got off the floor. I still carry the same mentality. Only difference is, now I am wiser and understand the concept of running away. Next time I see that fellow, I am making a beeline for the first exit...........

OK, now this wierd. When I first encounter this guy the other nite, I am WAY across town. Basically borderline ghetto, driving past the projects. (It's the only way to the h.w.). 30 miles from my "hood" in the burbs.

5 minutes ago, I run to the corner store to get some brews.......and damn it if that SAME guy in the SAME viper pulls up along side. As soon as we eye to eye, we BOTH start laughing our a's off. Turns out he lives a few blocks from me, and HIS viper is not HIS viper. It's a dealer car. HE SELLS THEM! Very nice guy. I learn that he has somewhere around 500 horsies and can pull a quarter mile in the low 12's. Wha t a car....for six figures.

I tell what Mc Quaid said, pull some plugs and we'll go again.
He tells me,"I just drive 'em like I see 'em, I am not a mechanic"

Anyway, I don't feel so bad now, I've got a new friend. On the severe darker side!

I drove an old Viper. First gear is a waste of time, You can spin the wheels pulling away in second gear and still beat most everything off the line. I found third gear the most comfortable to pull away in. Awsome machine, unless your over 6 foot tall and about 225. then its hilarious for those around to see you trying to get in and out of it.

Personally, I don't see the attraction to a Viper. They are sports cars. I prefer to drive a sedan. I'd rather have one of those Dodge Ram R/T-10s than a Viper.

Hell, you could have a KB Marauder-S for less with similar performance....and infinitely greater drivability (off the track at least.)

I'd feel real bad to be the Viper guy who paid $90k and gets spanked by a $35k Cobra with $5k in mods.

maybe mensrea or 93 teal could let us know how the marauder s holds up to a viper? (or maybe how close it can get to the viper's rear bumper):D

how about the Marauder S gets that extra 30 grand that Viper owners spend invested into the car so that the viper can start crying after it's been eaten.....

notacop...i never knew they made a 8 liter suburban?! thats crazy

So, that pretty much excludes 90% of the guys on this site (me included) from driving a Viper!

We talked for 15 minutes afterwards and he was absolutely shocked ;)
