The mufflers have been installed for a little while now but I have just gotten around to gathering two video clips for any of you that might be curious about the sound and tone sent out by these mufflers on a Marauder without any exhaust mods (except for mufflers & 1" Extension of Tips) Although the stock mufflers on the Marauder sound pretty decent for a factory tone, these Spintech Sportsman Streets amplify it a little more, not too much in my opinion, and give a nice throaty sound - but you be the judge, everyone has a different idea on what the perfect sound is and I have found mine.

Play with your speaker volume, and I apoligize for the wind hitting the camera, but you can still hear it pretty clearly. As you can see the sound at idle isn't increased much at all and for what it is increased, it sounds rather mellow and not overdone.
Interior Video - 7.94 MB: Please Right-Click, "Save As..."

Play with your speaker volume. I went part thottle but slowly creeped up to WOT. After it shifts you can turn your volume up and hear the gurgle the mufflers provide whenever you let off the gas, a nice gurgle IMHO.
If anyone requests a video at a certain angle or speed, etc... I will work to get one for you.

Yep, same 2.25" pipes, stock H, and stock four-cat setup. Only other change to the exhaust was pulling the tips out 1" which is another mod I give a thumbs-up to.

If you were to add some WATER WETTER to your coolant,
it would drop your coolant needle a few degrees...

So how are they on the interstate? I know one of the first modifications (after winter wheels/tires, tinted windows, and alarm/remote start) will be mufflers and maybe tips. Ideally I would go with the full Zooks setup, but that is a little out of the budget at this point. So looking for a little more sound, but no drone on the interstate.
When I was considering a '96 Impala SS as my next car, I was thinking about the full SpinTech Sportsman Street setup as I do like the sound. So, any drone or problems on the highway? I will be running 3.55's and XCal2 tune for now. Any thoughts on how it would sound with the resonator delete tips?

Eric,
No drone on the interstate. Zero, zilch, nadda, not an issue to worry about as I spent time worrying about it and when I finally installed them and took em on the highway - nadda. Resonator delete tips, I would guess at idle will be a little louder and more pronounced, but since the resonator muffles a little hence making the tone a wee-bit deeper (Correct me if I'm wrong for those that have done this mod) the higher RPMs might yield a higher pitched note? I'm not so sure myself, that was a guess. If you want me to get a video at highway speeds, or anything of the sort, send me a PM and I'll get it done.

Sounds good. Do you have a part number and place that you ordered from? I know CIA sells SPinTech stuff including the complete cat-back for the Impala SS. I am guessing with the part number they could order what is needed.

I ordered direct from Spintech, http://www.spintechmufflers.com/ - Part #3223 - Sportsman Street - $89.50/ea it would be coming from California. If you want louder than in the videos, go with their Pro-Streets as it is the next step up. Hope ya like it

So the correct muffler, for the stock pipes, will be a 2 1/4" inlet/outlet with an offset inlet and center outlet?

That is correct.

WOW, that was one quick response.
Sounds good. I was thinking of doing the Dynomax 18" mufflers, but everyone says that they drone. I want something that sounds good, wakes the exhaust up a little, but not annoying on the highway since I spend so much time there.

Well I hope you are happy with whatever decision you make. IMHO these Spintechs rock.
