View Full Version : CVPI 200 AMP Alternator Swap

Has anyone swapped out the MM OEM alternator for a CVPI 200 AMP High Output alternator? I have one but I don't know if it would be compatable but it appears to be a direct fit. The OEM battery lasted only 20K miles so I replaced it with an Optima Deep Cylce "yellow top" battery. Now, I would like to upgrade the alternator to match the high demand load on my electrical system. Any help from fellow MM owners is greatly appreciated.........Thanks

Won't work...
I've tried other alternators and the regulators work differently. Couple of threads around here discussing alternator upgrade experiments. Mostly, your options are limited to a "special" unit from PA Performance at about $600 each, or this one:
