It looks as though you did not have any problems hooking up.

Defyant was nailing those 12.65's and 12.67's all day long. :D He would have been hard to beat in the brackets with a 12.60+ dial in. It is gonna be interesting to see him square off against MarauderMark at Mason-Dixon. :)

Defyant, those are some awsome runs. I don't know how you do it on the factory tires. I just go up in smoke. My foot just wants to go to the floor.

Nice Times! :)

Excellent times! :banana2:

I can relate to no traction, when I went to the track it was damp from having rained less than 1/2 hour before.

I just had to go with soft launches and slowly roll into the throttle.

Shhh, dont give away my secrets :D .

That is exactly what I had to do! Traction should be fixed by the end of the week when my wide rims and Nittos get here. ;)

Those are truely spectacular runs Charlie! You have to learn the threshold of soft launches and going to WOT when still on stock rubber. I learned the hard way about the Nittos being shot, I am waiting for my new set. You wont believe the difference when you get them on your ride. You built yourself one potant Marauder there!

I was looking at your thread and pictures trying to find a little inspiration for the Shootout, I noticed in the first picture you are doing a burnout....on street tires???? You managed to hook up well enough for 1.9 60'. that's .4 sec better than what I did. Can you share what you were doing that day to hook up the street rubber? Thanks.

First, the street rubber was over 11K miles with 5K being S/Ced, ;) . The track prep was awsome. I am not a drag racer by no strech of the imagination, but it seemed like a rubber surface. I dont think I did any "BillyGMan" burn outs... just enough to clean them off. As I said, the track was great, the pits were..... the pits. We were parking on dirt, grass and rocks between runs. Driving to the track you could hear the rocks coming off the tires. To me, it made sense to "clean" the tires alittle.

At the line, I eased into the gas. I sat there idling until it was time to go with my foot resting on the throttle, all slack (if any) in the cable was pulled out. At the end of the third yellow (;) ), I eased into it then nailed it. (I red lighted a couple of runs doing this)

Keep in mind, track prep at Milan was on a professional level, so I'm told. I believe it since this was my second time to the track.

Maybe I eased into it a little further than Mrs. Smokie before "nailing it", I got very little wheel spin if any.

I've since added the widend rims w/ Nitto DR. On the street, the performance is night and day!!! I can not wait to get to the track.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: I also ran the tires at about 20 psi (I think).

Sure....

. I dont think I did any "BillyGMan" burn outs... just enough to clean them off. ). Yeah,.....that's all that I was doing in my burnout video. I was just cleaning them off. But somehow I cleaned all the rubber right off the tires too.
