I'm thinking of making a trip up to NE Dragway in Epping NH not this Wednesday but next Wednesday night (09/07) to get a baseline before I do my gears and stuff. If anyone is interested in joining me let me know. I will be running stock tires and 93 octane. My car is completely stock save for the K&N air filter. Any recommmendations on tire pressures and stuff?

Rears 25psi and front 40psi. Load the rpm's up to 1,500.

Stage shallow, just barely lite the 2nd set of staging lites, Go when the 3rd yellow lites.

Go around the water box and Just do enough of a burn out to clean off the tires.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Thanks for the advice but I'm completely new to this. Could you explain what you mean by "staging shallow", the thing with the lights, and the "water box"?

Wed. the 7th probably works for me. Get there early from what I hear, and be nice to the ricers. Repost this once or twice so I remember, sounds like a cool deal to me, and I need another "Johnny Damon photo-op."

No prob on the Damon look, he'll be in NY next year anyway. They have a "ride along" option at Epping. I'll jump in your co-pilot's chair and walk you through your first run if you want. Just be ready to start on a new hobby. It's pretty addictive.

Bad news for the 7th, the track is closed. :( How's the following week work for you?

Hey Paul,
Yeah, the 14th works for me and the "ride along" sounds good too. We'll be heading up right after we get out of work at 5. Do you go there often?
Would be cool if we could get some more members to head up there also.

I don't get to Epping very often, but I'm all for as many Marauders as possible. I'll pencil in the 14th on my calander. Wed. nights usually aren't too crowded, so we should be able to get a bunch of runs in. I think they also have a burnout contest on that night, so if anyone has a nearly spent set of rear tires.....

This sounds like it's gonna be a blast.
I can't wait. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Anyone else free for a Wednesday evening at Epping?
The more the merrier!

I might be able to swing in, I will be in Portsmouth that afternoon and if things go smoothly I should be crusing by the track early evening. As I ponder an S/C it would be good to see how the S/C cars run in person.

Yeah that would be something.
How 'bout it? Any S/Cers out there up for a trip to Epping on the 14th?
Hope to see you there MN6!

Another bump. Step up ladies and gents. Come visit lovely southern New Hampshire on a Wed. evening. I wonder if we could get this thread relocated to the Northeast Marauders section?

I will be there. BTW, was that you getting onto the I-190 ramp in West Boylston headed for Worcester this past Tuesday, (around 6:30ish). I was headed south on rte 12 toward Worcester and saw a MM in my rearview.

Nope, wasn't me.
What time will you be heading up?
Will you be anywhere near Clinton around 5 - 5:30?
BTW, I've never been to NEDW. Is there a pit area or something where we will park our cars when we're not racing? I want to know if I should remove my spare and jack or if there is a place to put them when I get there.

1) I plan on waiting outside the gate until it opens, around 5:00p.m. I'll probably get to the track 4:30- 4:45, in case there's a lot of people.
2) I'll be picking up/meeting my son in West Boylston in the early afternoon. He works over at the NAPA store there.
3) There's a rather large pit area at NED. Anything you want to remove/leave around is fairly safe. I've never had anything stolen at a track, but I guess there's always a first. I usually leave the spare and the jack at home, never really worried about carrying a spare, even on my long trips. Besides, there's a 50-50 chance that the wrong tire would blow so I couldn't use the spare anyway.
The only preparation that I can think of before you arrive would be to stop at the near-by filling station (there's one right down the street from the track) and inflate your front tires. I try to run 36 to 38 psi in them. We can deflate the rears when you get there. I'm looking forward to this. From what I hear, there's plenty of rice on Wed. nights, and most of it is all show and no go. I was also supposed to have a money race with a GT stang, but the dude chickened out. See you up there. If you need anything, email me or call me at 401-596-8478 (home), or 401-569-3931 (cell).
