Hey all, I don't own a new Marauder, but I'd sure love one. Maybe in a few years. Cool cars you all got here. I do have a classic Ford Convertible, though (see sig for link to pics :)), as well as an AWD 5.0 powered Mountaineer. :D

I have been hearing a lot of rumors lately about the cancellation of the Marauder. How much of this is true? Are they planning on killing the car already and if so, when? Although the 4.6 is a great motor, I think they should have put the 5.4 in it or at least a factory blower, ala the 03 Cobra. Or let SVT have a go at one. ;)

I'm only 28, but I'm hoping to find a nice used one in a couple years to haul my family around in. Are there any central Ohio guys on this board?

You would be only the second I have seen on this board from Ohio. I am south of cleveland, and am WELL AWARE of Delaware. I once fed the bears there, if you know what I mean. The other guy is from Elyria. Close to me, but he doesn't frequent the board.

It's lonely here....

Well, Well,Well...

This has just been a "banner-buckeye" day for you, CRUZ...

Two nice, new folks from your neck of the woods...glad to see you have some local boys to hook up with.

Welcome aboard Wease...I'm sure CRUZ is on his way over to your place for a beer now...

As far as a used Marauder...they're available at "a dealer near you" for around $26-$28...and you'll be the first to title it.

Sweet Galaxy, BTW!

Thanks for the welcome, fellas. I've been reading this site for a while, just haven't actually registered. As you can tell, I like all American cars, but I've probably owned more Fords than anything else. ;) I just hope to add a Marauder in a few years to my collection... :)

Welcome Wease! Nice 67 428 500XL,whoever ordered it from Ford knew their way around an order sheet. Don't worry, they even let wanna-bes like me in here, heck at the last Chicken Meet I even got to come in the front door and sit at the adults table.LOL
Hey RF,my mothers' cousin,Edward Burnds was the 3 Stooges director,he also made a slew of B grade horror movies, and did the original "The Return of The Fly".

If you wait too long, you'll be adding a USED Marauder to your collection...

And I agree with every comment about your Galaxie...it's beautiful... :rasta:

It probably will be used. I hardly ever buy new. I bought my Formula used with 8K miles on it. :)

So does anyone know for sure if/when they will be cancelling the Marauder?

Nothing firm from Mercury yet, but all the rumors has been saying 2004 will be the last year.

Well that sucks, because that means basically only 2 years of production, right?

Welcome Aboard Wease!
Is your Galaxie registered with www.fordregistry.com? I like the fastback myself (convertible is a very close 2nd). I am in the same boat with you (no MM yet).

Yup. two years.

Seems to be a trend for the Marauder. 69-70 03-04 Hmmm

Here it is (http://www.ford-registry.com/1967_Picture_Gallery/1967_PG_XL_2DC_284_to_1200.htm ), right at the top of the page. I have been on there for a while. One of the very few XL 428 Ragtops on there... :coolman:

Very cool. Nice XL. I may have to come up with some pics of my 68 XL GT convertible. But it only has a 390. :(

My first 1967 Galaxie convertible was a 500 with a 390 2 barrel. I sold it before I joined the military and regretted it forever. :( Until I happened to come across my current 1967 XL Ragtop with the 428, that is... :D
