With the extreme heat of the Mississippi summers I have what
appears as adhesive oozing from the top of my stock voltmeter.
Has anyone else had this occur? :depress:

Sounds like a good excuse to upgrade to a real working AutoMeter oil pressure gauge and a new matching voltmeter to go along with it. :)

You know, it is funny you say this. I test drove an '03 300A a couple weeks ago when it was pretty hot here. Above both gauges it had a sticky, semi-solid substance there. I thought it looked like someone spilled something (not sure what) and it was there. But it was above both gauges and a little in between and kind of thick. Really weird. Kind of like an elephant sneezed or something... :)

Yep, it's very much just like that. Have you found a remedy?

no remedy yet,... I'm gonna pull the gauges soon, but I think it's some glue? from the console.

I saw your guage thread right after I posted...I am considering pulling the
thing off of there and clean it up but I don't want to mess it up worse than it already is.
Anyone have any idea what that little guage bezel piece costs?

I just looked in my Mitchell Manual,.. I found the gauges, but I couldn't the bezel itself.

I haven't tried to clean it. It looks totally invisible when it's not 100 degrees in the car. But, I'd think something like Simple Green should take it off.

If you are talking about the plastic console the guages set in, it's $140.00 msrp.

I have one broken clip that secures the guage pod console to the rest of the console, ford does not sell the clip.
The guage pod is an entire assembly.
Anybody know of a source to get the clips with out purchacing the entire pod assembly?
My guages are not leaking like in the pics, If they were I would try and clean them up with WD40.
I can thank Marauderjack for the tip!:bows:

Check with Zack. If I recall, he said something like this during our discussion.

Three from Mississippi in one thread! I think thats a record. We're kinda few and far between. It's been up to 106 on the heat index here in north mississippi this past week but I haven't noticed my car melting, just me! If either of you ever come to Tunica, give me a shout. Marauder owners are scarce up here.

FORD has to sell the clip.
Go to the Parts Department at your dealership and ask them
to let you look at the Hardware book.
The Hardware Book has all of the clips, screws, retainers, locks, nuts, bolts,
electrical pigtails, harnesses, etc. that go into the vehicles.
You will find the clip you are looking for.
You may have to buy it in a bag of 10 or 12, but you will be able to get it.

If the Parts Department Mgr looks at you sideways,
then just visit a bodyshop anbd tell them what you are looking for.
It would be wise to have the gauge cluster in your hand to show them the clip.

I don't know if Ray "TheDealer" is back to work yet or not, but you might want to check with him on a replacement gauge panel.

Are you talking about the metal clip? ..or the plastic piece it mounts to? If it is the plastic part,.. you're screwed. :(

I pulled the the gauge console,.. it is glue from the plastic trim piece on top. Soapy water didn't work,.. Isopropyl Alcohol smeared it around. ..finally, Zaino tire cleaner took it right off.

btw- the part number for that gauge console is: 3W3D-5404810-A At least that's what's printed on the inside of it. :o

"And in the meantime my Marauder tried to eat the honda":lol:

Seriously I think you should blame Jeff for the car trying to leave the garage. He started this whole thing!!!:lol:

Sorry Jeff, I owe you lunch, I couldn't help myself.
