THE DATES HERE ARE INCORRECT--SATURDAY, OCT 28, 2006 is the new date. The second, "End of the Cruise Season" picnic will be held on Oct. 22nd at the Jackson Pavilion at Grapevine Lake. I am attaching the info , so I think everything is covered there. Please let me know of your intentions as early as possible for planning purposes. The SVT Club plans to have a good group join us and we are looking forward to having many Cougars in the lot---remember, this is not a car show---it is a family picnic.
Looking forward to seeing all of you there, Maury

Sorry we missed the show on the 24th. Needed to help some friends.

Phil and I will be trying to make the picnic and show afterwards. What do you want us to bring?

Well, folks, the weather forecast messed up Chucks this month---we had a good showing---more Marauders than SVTs--sorry about no posts from me---computer acting up---so, I am getting this out while I can. We need to firm up plans for the picnic--SOON---There are no really big items---I have the soda, water, holders for trays and jellied fuel for heat, serving pieces, table covers and have ordered 35 meals for 1 PM. The SVT folks will be giving me numbers in two weeks, the Cougars about the same time--if all of you coming would post it, it sure would help me plan. As I said, we need a coffee maker, horseshoes and Volleyball equipment, salads, veggies and deserts. NOW, does anyone have a suggestion for a meeting time and place---a car show---Chucks in Grapevine---breakfast somewhere--we'll just need a few minutes---but we haven't had a social get-to-gether in a long time--PLEASE make some suggestions NOW---so we can set it up by OCT 15th. It's been a great Summer--let's have a great Fall and Winter. I've got my fingers crossed that my computer doesn't give up--stay in touch, Pop Pop Rauder :)

The picnic draws nearer and nearer and I only have 11 confirmed attendees--haven't heard from the SVT folks---they were at the State fair Saturday--will contact them tomorrow. Should get a count from the Cougars on Thursday. I ordered 35 meals--got a long way to go :help: :help: If I don't reduce the order by the Tuesday before the picnic, we'll have to pay for 35 meals-- as a last ditch effort , I'm asking if next Sunday afternoon at Chucks in Grapevine would get a good turn-out--time is flexible for greatest attendance---otherwise, I have to go into this one blind as to your wishes and attendance--the ball is in your court----Maury

I'll be at Chucks in Grapevine at 4 PM THIS SUNDAY, the 16th. If anyone shows up, we'll discuss the picnic and then take a cruise somewhere for a social time--I'll leave at 5 PM. I'm going to give Coulter's the final meal count on Tuesday--I'll only order enough meals for those I know are coming--please check in, Maury

Had a phone call from a newby this evening......I posted about meeting him a couple of weeks ago. His name is Scott Vasquez. He owns a 2003 MM. He said that he and his wife would like to attend the picnic. I told him that we would be pleased to have them and we will be happy to show them the way to the park. Sooooo, you can add two more to the list of those who can make it. :welcome:  :drumstck: :food:

Our luck is holding out ---- the forecast is for mid-70s and dry. We have a good group checked in---but we could use more Marauders--the Cougars are really coming thru--I got a break on the meal count--I can revise it on Picnic day--best before 5 PM on Friday---if you find you can make it--give me a call ---817-296-3819. I have taken care of soft drinks--coffee---iced tea---meat and cole slaw, beans and potato casserole--anything else you want to bring--deserts, salads, etc will be appreciated ( NO GLASS CONTAINERS, Please)--gates will open at 11 AM--meals arrive at 1 PM--served as soon as we get set up--the Cruise at Chucks starts early this month--4 PM--so we will leave the park sometime around 4 PM--have a good route planned---nobody will have to take chances to be in the parade into the parking spaces--we can go down Main Street or by-pass downtown---your choice--the final grouping will take place in the Target parking lot--then around to the front of the lot and parking---less stressful than last Spring. If you can possibly make it--please do---see you there, Maury

Good job Maury. I think this was the biggest one yet. Good food, good company and I think we reached some agreement on future events this winter.
Chuck's car show was pretty good too. I didn't know there were costumes planned. I probably should have done my Tom Selleck imitation, after all we both have brown hair and a mustache. On the other hand, so did Higgins, maybe I would have a better chance with a Higgins imitation.
Keith showed up with one beautiful 56 Merc. I hope he brings both his cars again next year or even to John Eagles next week. Good to talk to the Cougar guys.
Thanks to Maury again, I would have never known about Chuck's or the picnic without his hard work in the background.
Unofficially I heard a new speed record was set on the dam. Apparantly a lucky run with a preoccupied cop on the other end of the dam.
