At 21 years old? Can anyone in here beat that :)
Well i didn't sign the papers yet, but i love these cars. I know a lot of people might look at me wierd getting into one, but oh well.
Unlike my name though, i plan to make this one lownquik.
What do you guys think, will my age fir the image of this car? I was planning on a 02 camaro ss, but now i can get these cars for the same price, i have pretty much changed complete visions. I saw a marauder on the road the other day, it had me in awe.

Our moderator LML has you beat. He's 19 and the proud owner of a Mercury Marauder. I'm 23 and soon to be the proud owner of a Marauder. I think their are a lot of young owners out there. It's a great car! Take this from a previous owner of a 99 TransAm.

Welcome...and DO go for it...ANYONE can have a Camaro (and everyone does, just about), but almost NOBODY has a Marauder...you'll be getting something special. Sure, your buds might hassle you for not buying a "tuner" car, but t'hell with 'em...try taking a 500 mile trip in a ricer...

dok,you got me beat by the better part of a decade.
I was 22 when I bought a brand new 73 Pantera.
If you young guys think you look funny in a MM you should've seen me trying to get into a Honda S2000 to test drive it for my son,(no flames,he's gonna use it as a race car),I'm way old,6'3" and around 275 lbs,I had to put the top down, walk into it and slide down into the seat like a darn go-kart,thought they might need the Jaws Of Life to get me back out of it.
It's nice to see you young dudes buying
big honking hulks of Detroit Iron..

When I was 14, I paid $100 for a 1950 Merc. Customized it and painted it jet black. Very similar to the car James Dean made famous. Kept it 3 years and sold it for $500. Sure wish I had it now.

The only universal truth about this car seems to be that the dealer knows NOTHING about it. The black 300A in the showroom at the dealership (a former dealer demo) actually had a flat tire when I went in. How bad is that? (No worse than when you tell them that you want the dlr-installed spoiler and they tell you there isn't one, so you have to pull out their own brochure and point to it).

Basically I have no date yet, but despite knowing that it's April 1 before they start painting them in SB, I have to endure the dealer's constant reassurances that they're already out there in that color and that getting one will be no problem. He doesn't listen. I don't expect to see the car before the middle of May.

Now if I could only get him to stop asking me if I'm positive I don't want the "optional moonroof" that doesn't even exist... :shake:

First, we now know which guys will know how to make our computers do what we want, where to turn when we want CD's ripped and burned, who to ask where all the good looking chicks are hanging out.....

We also learned that we have to keep RF and his rather warped sense of humor away from Reaper and notacop. In fact, I often question whether he should even be allowed near LML, everybody's favorite tyke! We don't want that boy anymore screwed up than he is!!

Sounds like he appreciates it and will take care of it.

There should be more 16 -18 years olds who love this car for what it is, instead of drooling over Honda Civics.

All our "Young Guns" should write to Bill Ford and tell him their age, they actually own a Marauder and ask why he's going to stop production after 2004 when things are just getting going.

exactly. though i have friends who own a 2001 cobra, a 2001 mustang bullitt, a 1995 z28, and a 2003 mach 1, these kind of cars are definitely in the minority among my age group. it seems as though for every american car i see, i see 5 more neon underbodied, fart canned, decaled, imported 4 cyls. this is especially bad here in phoenix. i personally love the car for its size, looks, sound, and aura, not to mention the performance potential of the 4.6 4 valve. it will be sad to see it go, but even more of an atrocity if ford axes it because of not enough young buyers.
