Well Ive been to three different dealerships about my tick tick in drivers
wheel well. Two Linclon and one Ford dealership. Long story short the Ford
dealer was affraid to work on the car and so was one of the Lincoln dealerships.
FORD makes the friggin car but no dealer knows how to work on them!
Anyway, Baystate Lincoln/Mercury is gonna get a Ford Rep. for me. But,
I have a JLT installed and I need to remove it...Problem is I broke the factory
airbox when removing it (don't ask). I have access to 98-01 CV airboxes
and wanted to know if they would fit on the MM zip-tube MAF setup.
Just so the Ford Rep. would be "fooled" ANY help is appreciated.

I brought my Car to the Dealer with the CAI installed and they never said a word. If they can't prove that the Airbox is causing the tick, then they can't say anyrthing about it. Besides, Whats the Big Deal if you put a Air Filter that outlasts and outperforms the paper stock element? If anything, You have a filter that Protects better then some Paper filter.

I know it makes sence, the dealer did not acutally care. Its the Ford
Representative thats gonna look at the car, and the dealer told me to put
the stock unit on before the Rep. could see it. The Reps. will make any
excuse...

Excuse me, please, but I'm under the impression that CVs and CV/PIs did not get the driver's side MM like induction path until the '04 model year. I could be wrong, I haven's spent much time under a CV hood, but I honestly don't think your cure will come from anything older that an '04 CV. Please let me know if I am correct, I need to update this 411 for future questions. Thanks.

If that fails, prolly enough people here have changed air boxes for one reason or another and may part with the OEM cheap.

Someone has to be close enough to dust off an air box setting around and let him use it for a day or two. Just my :twocents:

If you were close I'd lend you my take-off.
Heck, if you want to spring for shipping I'll box it up for you on loan, but you'll be short the rubber boot that connects the airbox to the front clip and the forward mount/bolt. I canned those pieces for my new airbox.
Hopefully someone close will be able to help you out.

CV / CVPIs intake runs the same way the MM does. The CV guys like our air boxes and MAFs. Supposedly they get a nice HP gain from them.

Hi Mac. CVs and CVPIs air induction does run on the drivers side. What happened for 2004 is the CVPIs were given a new airbox, similar to the Marauder one. That's partly how the 2004 CPIs have a HP increase to about 250 HP, instead of 239.
:nono: The MAS are different on the 03 and back CV/CVPI, but the 04CVPI has the same as the MM. As long as you swap you MAS into the airbox you are using you should not have a problem. The 04 CVPI should have the same part# as the MM.

Thanks for this update. I was going to swap some of my ole MM stuff into my "new" unmarked 04 CVPI.

I'd put the broken box on there and tell them it happened last time it was here.

Sure. I'll get some pics. Not much has changed except the plastic cover on top of the engine.

From what I understand, it is not exactly the same air box as the Marauder.
