Answer:

I have been getting good everyday wear on the Nittos. For daily driving I run 30-31 pounds of air, at the strip I run them at about 20 pounds to get better traction. From extensive testing and dozens of runs, starting at 31, and going in 1 pound increments, we found the best traction at 20-21 pounds of air at the drag strip. For what its worth....
I found this while continuing my search. If anyone has and other suggestion, post up. Otherwise this thread is dead:D

Are we talking about the 555s' (Street Drag Radials) or the 555Rs' (Extreme Drag Radials)?

I just got the 555Rs' today and am getting them installed tomorrow, so inquiring minds want to know.

They're strictly for strip and show as I have no desire to suffer the consequences of paying $500 for tires that don't handle well or do very well when it rains, which is what I've heard. I like the stock tires' rain performance.

Well I don't have a lot of experience with them on so far, but I ran the drag radials on the street at 32 psi and on the track at 24 psi and they seemed to handle just fine.

I got the extream DR. The MM stays in the garage during bad weather.

.Sorry Dave, but that's an oxy-moron ("street drag radial"). No, I'm not calling you a moron my friend, but what I am saying is that the NT555's are NOT drag radials at all. Only the NT555R's Nittos are drag radials. But to answer the question posed in this thread, I've run the Nitto drag radials on the street from 38 PSI (for doing better burnouts from a dead punch) to as low as 11 PSI (that wasn't intentional though. I had a slow leak. :eek: ). But I usually run them between 28-32 PSI on the street, and I've found that I have to take them down to 22 PSI or less to get my car to hook good at the track (17-22 PSI ).
