Can anyone tell me what the function is of the plastic "L" shaped peice that is about the size of your hand and that is attached to the lower edge of the front fender by the inboard side of each front tire? They're right where the wheel well starts, one on each side. What do they do? What are they called? Why are they there? What will happen if I remove the one on the driver's side? Why is there air?

I'm adding ducting to force air onto the front brake rotors and the driver's side has already got the 4" ducting that I routed from the bumper inlet up to the air box so that little piece of plastic might have to go in order for me to get where I wanna go. But I'm leery of pulling off parts, no matter how innocuous looking they are, when I have no idea what they do or why the engineers stuck them on there. I'm hoping there's someone here less clueless about this than me. :bandit:

They are minor aerodynamic fixes. They lower the drag coefficient a bit.

Thanks. I figured they were something relatively unimportant but I just wanted to be sure so I didn't inadvertently affect the pinion angle(!).

For a second there, I thought this was going to be a more interesting thread. Then I opened it.
