So I realize our rear speakers are bypassed to remove the bass...more bass for the sub in theory. Well I replaced all my speakers and finally my deck and NOW i have no sub and worste yet no bass from the rear speakers. Anyone know where the cut out is to return the bass to the rear speakers? or what i'd need to do to get the factory sub and amp working again?

Are you saying that we all have 2 non functioning rear speakers?
If so, what do I need to do to hook them up correctly?
Thanks,

Well, the factory system must cut bass to the rear speakers, and send it only to the sub...
I installed my Basslink this weekend and removed the factory sub setup. Didn't see anything like a crossover though...I have non-stock speakers in the back.
The Basslink is using inputs spliced from the rear speakers, and sounds fine, so I'm not sure if low-end is being choked there.
I'd say maybe there was a seperate output for the amp, and your new headunit is does not have any outputs going to that line.
I don't have more info, maybe others who have swapped headunits can chime in and say if a special harness or mod was needed.

The OEM radio has a built in test function which does check each speaker. Maybe someone will chime in here and refresh our collective memory. It's been so long since I used it, I have forgotten how to activiate it. You might also do a search on radio functions and see what jumps out.

While not bypassed. The rear speaker output from the HU does indeed have significantly less bass in the signal than the front output. I ran into this quirk when installing my multiple amp set up. The low frequncy signal is there but it is at a far lesser level than the level of low frequency being sent to the front speakers. I solved this with a 4 channel AudioControl EQ that I was going to install anyway and used it to add about 6db at 60hz . But it drove me nuts during the initial amp install. It was especially noticable after I swapped the rear factory speakers with 6 x 9's.
I believe that this by design and is a function of the Hu.

Hold down the 3 and 6 buttons simultainously(sp) and the HU will go through the speaker test mode. The test mode only works in the FM/AM radio mode. It will not work with the tape or CD/CDDJ on.

The lack of bass response is right. There is absolutely ZERO bass to the back speakers. i am most likely just going to add a sub and amp and forget counting on the deck speakers for bass. I was hoping there was an easy fix out there.
I took out my factory deck for a kenwood excelion with built in dvd and some other fancy stuff. thought that would increase my bass but it didn't
sub and amp here i come.
