It was a rumor for a while, but the new 2006 Mustang sales brochure hit showrooms this week, and listed inside, were the new 18 inch rim options for the new 2006 Mustang GTs, among the options were the new 18 in Bullit Chrome rims and yes, our very own Marauder rims!
Its cool to know I will be able to swap rims if I want to change the look, and that the Marauder Rims will fit.
Here is a cool Link (http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=34508)

Option code is 64W, which is either chrome or polished 18 in bullits with the Knockoffs.

I don't know... maybe it's just me, but to see our wheel as an option on another car just doesn't still well. To me, people will think, "Wow! That guy put Mustang wheels on his Grand Marquis!"
One of the reason's why I bought this car was it's "exclusivity". Face it, there's only 11,000 or so of us out there. The wheels were part of that "exclusivity". Now every garden variety Mustang GT could have our wheels. :shake:
Sorry for the rant, that's just the way I feel.

SWEET!!!
I'm checking out the 18 x 8.5" Black spoke Bullitt rims!!
How can we verify the offset on these?

I guess the only good thing out of this is that they'll be available from the dealer for a while longer. Although from the other thread on here, it doesn't sound like our wheel caps will fit??

Yeah, I was hoping they would stay Marauder only but then hoping for more "custom" options because of the Mustangs. Well maybe now they will soon be cheaper to buy which means cheaper to get widened - my 900 post

Well, if they will fit the 06 Mustang, and the Marauder rim will fit the 06 Mustang, it seems to me that the Bullit rims will fit the marauder if it will fit the Mustang.

That's what I'm hoping...but the '06 Mustang might have a little more clearance for the 1/2" wider rim than a Marauder would have.
Plus, knowing Ford they will bring out that 'Marauder rim' but it will have a different offset for the '06 Mustang....

No need to get your panties in a bunch over the Marauder rim deal. Its an optional wheel for the Mustang, and from what I follow on the 05-06 Mustang forums, they are not popular at all. The Mustang crowd likes the Bullit rims and aftermarket rims, in fact, I read where they WONT buy the Marauder rim for just that reason, because it came first on the Marauder. I have seen the Marauder rim on the new Mustang, and it doesnt look bad. I still like the 18 in chrome bullit rims on the new Mustang.

This sword cuts both ways. While I also like the exclusivity of the Marauder wheel it could cause problems for those of us who plan to keep our cars for many years to come. The 406 and 427 Fords (and my Merc) used 15 x 5.5 KH wheels that were not used on other cars. 40 years later these wheels are rare and expensive. I can see the same possibility with the Marauder wheels. Even more so for the 300A spare.

I personally do not like the other rims. If I were to buy a Mustang, I would choose the Marauder rims.

It was love at 1st sight for me when Ford brought these out on a Mustang. If they fit a MM, I have some thinking to do for next spring.

A positive side note: If the Mustang would use the same sized tires as on the MM rims, then the demand for them long term would be there. Maybe other companies would also make these sizes then.

I'm wondering the same thing.
What if it is the same style (marauder) but with a different back spacing/offset.
I like the 18" bullit/torque thrust, but I want to see if they come out with a "deep dish" look.

The factory 2005 mustang wheels are probably not a great choice, the 6 cyl wheel is 16x8, with a big enough tire it would look ok, the gt/torq thrust/bullit wheel is 17 and would look nice, no deep dishes ie 18x8 with 2.5 inch backspacing from factory probably ever again. the gt premium wheels are butt ugly, i'd get factory take-offs from ebay, i paid 250 for rims and tires for my 67 merc here's a link to one but if you're patient you'll find better as for bolt pattern they are the same, as for backspacing/offset "Everything will work if you let it" Meatloaf in Roadie
