Stopped by my body shop the other day to find out how much it would cost to fix my wheel, as I sc***** it on a curb parking :mad2: He called me back and told me to have the wheel fixed would be about $300-400. OUCH. He also told me about a company that they have used before that does crome plating for OE manuf. Say they do the best quality work and are guaranteed for 3 years. The cost $745 for all four wheels. They do a base dip of brass followed by three coats of nickel and then the chrome. Does anybody know anything about the price? Is the $745 quoted to me a good deal?

I've been considering taking the clear off the wheels so I can sand and polish out the scratches. I don't have many but with the clearcoat there's no easy way to fix them.

A local dealer scratched all four rims when doing an alignment. So, to fix it, they had all of them chromed. The finish still looks good, (except the couple of nicks i did).I am happy overall. Dont know how much it cost, or where they sent them. Somewhere in california.

Marty's are chromed also. Nickle.

Y'all reaching for "chrome", please watch your step? Don't reach too fast?

Nickle and Chrome plating share similar "dipping" processes, however, they are different metals, and a word of caution is due here.

If you live in a climate where "freezing" is possible in winter months, be aware that aluminum (your wheel) and chrome (the plating process you're buying) expand and shrink at different temperatures. If one expands, or, shrinks before the other...

Oops.

Sorry...

These guys did the wheels on my 32. They are two piece aluminum, very difficult to do properly. They did a superb job.
